I hear that after the game Wes went outside, saw his own shadow and declared we would have 6 more weeks of crappy basketball.

I was wondering if the problems were NIL and/or donor related. What a shame, let's let the coaches do what they were hired to do without any interference.

You know I wondered about that, but I don't want to mention anything like that. It could shut down the program.

    That interview made me cringe.

We put up 0.8 points per possession. Terrible yet again. The defense was fine, holding WVU to 1.02 points per possession on a night when they shot 50% from three. That should be good enough to win, especially at home. Offense is where the core problem lies. It was nice to see a change to the starting 5, but going with the two PG lineup is not an improvement.

Is everyone ready for this? Our best player tonight was Rayvon Griffith. Despite playing just 12 minutes he led our team with 3.3 net points. An efficient 7 points with 2 assists, and he led our team with a 7.1 defensive BPM. Betsey was second best, followed by Day Day, Skillings, and Reed. The best 5 was Day Day and a bunch of wings. Why not give that a try?

Jizzle was our worst player by far, with negative 8.2 net points. He went 0 for 8 from the floor and had 3 turnovers with just 1 assist. And he was our worst defender. That all adds up to a negative 25.3 BPM. Aziz, Simas, and Page also had bad games.

I don't think effort is even a third of the problem. We won the rebounding battle. But we don't run an offensive scheme that generates clean catch and shoot looks. Better effort will not help with that. Blaming effort is just a lazy way for the coach to deflect from his own scheme failures. Wes is responsible for the style of play. He continues to run an offense that coaches learned how to stop 10 years ago. The game has evolved and left him behind.

Would be nice to hear from Terry Nelson. I feel like he would know what is going on behind the scenes. I feel like he has grown very frustrated as well. It projects through the radio broadcast.

I don't think it can wait til the off season. This season is obviously lost. Between the lethargic football energy and the disaster that tried to pass itself off as a b12 contender something needs to be handled now or were right back to where we were 4 years ago.

But, of course according to coaches he can't shoot straight.

No, the worst was when they quit against Houston, and Brannen went straight to the locker room at the end, leaving his players to go through the handshake line without him. I believe that was Brannen’s last game.
