at this point in time, i think any school that ignored nil would just be screwing itself - i don't have any metrics for that, but i just think it would be almost impossible to get top talent - these kids all seem to have agents, and i don't think they're going to play for free. but, i agree with your point - you need someone to be the heart and soul of the team, to be the leader. i'm not advocating for other fball players, but i remember back to connor barwin defending guys six inches taller. guys who just won't, and don't, quit. who put the team on their back and drag it forward.

I see it moving in the opposite direction actually. Pay coaches less and pay the players more. As much as I disagree with that, I feel that is more likely to happen.

Great. Going forward, I would expect even softer players who jump ship at the first sign of discomfort. I doubt Huggs could coach present day. Going to make watching and supporting unbearable.
While I think this is a pure chickencrap thing of Fickell to do, I'm hopefull that we enter into an era of two and three or more year NIL contracts. If that happens, pay the coaches much less and pay the players. How many starting NFL players get paid less than their coach? I think the answer is very few after the rookie contract.Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

I'm waiting on the Wisconsin case refusing to enter a player into the portal to be settled. The kid had a two year NIL deal so Wisconsin felt they didn't need to honor the player's request to enter the portal and ultimately are blocking his transfer to Miami.

I get it. I also think the Cap makes sense, similar to NFL, in order to keep things on a somewhat level playing field. Further, if these guys are making so much, they should sign a contract to have skin in the game.Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

The injury to Skillings and a dip in confidence coming back affected the game plan. Day Day should have been starting over Jizzle. Jizzle is talented but still not on the level of Day Day in terms of controlling the offense and making the best point guard decision. Day Day brought/brings a swagger that the rest of the team can feed off of, which is needed. Plus his drive and dish ability opens up the three for other players and takes the heat off our spot up shooters.
The injury to Skillings shifted the momentum/confidence of the entire team. Still with Wes just confused on the point guard change and trying to bring Thomas off the bench as the 6th man.
