This is payback time. The Cougars embarrassed the Cats in Provo two weekends ago, 80-52. BYU shot the eyes out of the basket (28/49, 15/24, 9/11), while UC chucked up bricks all night. Aside from Simas, who hit 4 of 8 treys, the Cats went 23/61, 5/28 (1/20 by everyone not named Simas), 1/4.

It was a close game until the Cougars hit 5 late points before halftime, then lit up the Bearcats to the tune of 52 in the second half (including that scrub's trey at the final horn).

I expect a sizable contingent of BYU fans to attend. There were about 500 at the women's game last month. I just checked gobearcats.com, which shows there are 12 bench seats in the rafters remaining. I didn't see any reference to SRO availability.

I'll be there, looking for a repeat of the effort and overall performance that the Bearcats put in last night in Orlando. At present, this is a Q2 matchup for UC, as BYU stand at #35 in the NET.

Since our visit to Provo, BYU have beaten Baylor at home by 4 in OT, won by 6 at UCF, and lost to Arizona by 11 at home.

They appear to have a healthy squad based on their most recent box score.

I don't have any stats, but this game should be a gut check. byu kicked the 'cats in the nuts out there. do the 'cats have it in them, to return the favor? or, at least to show a pulse?

Exactly...this is a pivotal game. Can they learn from their mistakes, exact revenge, and make an effort to salvage a possible NCAA birth with a home court advantage, or do they just rollover? This is equally on coaches and players. This game alone will show whether the trend is up or down...for all involved.

Just checked the BIG XII standings. Needless to say that UC is at the bottom or near the bottom in almost every category. UC is mid-pack in scoring defense and near the top with the fewest turnovers. BYU is an NCAA Tournament team assuming it does not have some major break-down from here on out. It leads the conference in field goal percentage shooting and the number of threes made a game.

Because of UC's terrible conference stats and its dismal conference home record (1-4), the odds makers in Vegas will probably give the edge to BYU. That last unnecessary three point shot in Provo rubbed Miller the wrong way. Also, UC was outplayed by BYU in the second half. There is no other way to describe it.

Despite UC's God-awful conference stats, BYU's scoring percentage, three-point shooting (10 threes / g), and their size, I feel good about UC's chances tomorrow night. Do not ask me why. I just do. In Provo, UC outscored BYU in the paint, outscored them in fast-break points, and forced 14 turnovers. If UC can force some BYU misses from the three-point line, turn them over, attack the paint, and have 4 guys scoring in double figures, I really like its chances. Run those tall guys all night up and down the floor and let's see what happens. UC should NOT get bogged down throwing the ball around the perimeter. Miller should have Aziz and Mitchell running the floor all night to get in front of BYU's bigs. If I were Miller, I would put BYU in chase mode on every defensive rebound and free throw miss.

At this point, when you think about it, what does UC have to lose? Run 'em.

Which reminds me. Did Arrington Page even see the floor against UCF? I don't remember seeing him at all ? And #2 How severe is Hickman's injury?

Page came in for a minute after Mitchell's injury. He had two really lazy turnovers against WVU and I'd guess he's in the doghouse.

                    No idea about Hickman.

i think hickman's hurt. a couple of games, there were reports that he was wearing a boot pre game, and then he'd be available. i think that they just shut him down.
