Well I got my wish. We held them to just 16 points at the rim (down from 36 in the first meeting) and Jizzle's usage rate was 24%, allowing the wings to shine.

Day Day was our best player with a career high 8.2 net points, scoring 16 from the field on only 12 shots, plus 5 of 6 at the line and also had the best defensive BPM thanks to 6 steals. Reed was second best with 4.6 net points, scoring 18 from the field on 12 shots. Mitchell was third best with 3.6 net points, scoring 15 from the field on 10 shots while leading with 15 boards and 5 assists. His 6 turnovers hurt his BPM though. Skillings and Aziz had 2.5+ net points thanks to their defense.

Jizzle was our worst player with negative 6.2 net points, going just 2 for 10 from the field with 5 turnovers and a negative defensive BPM. Simas was next worst, going 0 for 6 from the field with a negative defensive BPM. Betsey also had a negative game, missing his two threes.

We got to the rim 30 times and the free throw line 20 times while taking only 16 shots from midrange. More of that please. 18 steals helps of course, but our wings were getting some good looks in the half court too.

Chad brought this up on his podcast and it's probably noteworthy, Page did not play today, not even in garbage time. No reports of an injury, so likely coaches decision. If that's not a message that he's not coming back next year, I'm not sure what is. Good chance he has played his last minute as a Bearcat.

Reed is a decent post-up player. That is a good use for Reed because he is more likely to have a smaller guard on him. He is one of two guys on the team that can play in the paint with their backs to the basket. Mitchell is the other player.

UC had 16 turnovers today and still won. However, UC turned OKST over 24 times. Wow! UC cannot afford to turn the ball over tomorrow against Iowa State.

If I am Miller, I would clear out the paint and post Reed against Iowa State's smaller guards. Let's see what happens.

Much like DePaul over UC in 2009 Big East Tournament, #16 Colorado just beat #9 TCU

every win is a great win. Get ready for a game tomorrow as I doubt if Iowa State will give up before the tip-off as OSU did. Shame on OSU.

                        • The Utes got off to a strong start and held on before half to lead, 40-39. When they came out after the break, The Knights strangled them, eventually pulling away for an 87-72 victory. UCF will face the Jayhawks on Wednesday.

ESPN.com now showing UC an 8.5 dog ... also lists the game on ESPN (it was ESPN or ESPN2 yesterday) and ESPN+ ... winner gets BYU at 12:30 pm ET tomorrow on ESPN2

                            Other games:
Colorado vs. West Virginia (-6.5), winner versus Houston
Kansas State vs. Baylor (-6.5), winner versus Texas Tech
UCF vs. Kansas (10.5), winner versus Arizona

Baylor has slipped towards the bubble and may need this one

If he wasn't 100%, Wes should've held him back. Of course a player will look tentative if they come back too early or less than 100%. I apologize to Daniel for being critical of his play, but that is on Wes and the medical staff who erred in clearing a player too soon. I'm glad he didn't have any setbacks, but in a game where athleticism is key, especially for DSJ, bringing him back too soon could've caused a medical setback.

Should have stayed in the AAC, where we were a big fish, in a medium sized pond.
