All I’m saying is his numbers the last two seasons were basically the same, with two different coaches. His problem is the games where he was content to stand around, not demand the ball, and attempt less than 5 shots the whole game. Texas thought he was probably one and done when he got there, there’s a reason that didn’t work out. Look at his shot attempt numbers beginning with the 2/8 game, seems he chose not to involve himself in the offense. When he wanted to, against UCF in the Crown, he was a heck of a player.

He was on national tv auditioning for his next paycheck is why he tried. Good riddance.

All I'm saying is Pitino is a much more expierenced coach over Wes or Terry? Pitino has definetly sent more players to the NBA than Ikm both of those coaches combined! Wouldn't you agree???

I'm not sure he was granted a red shirt after playing nine games in 2023-24. It would be similar to Connor Hickman's situation, but I can find no information to indicate that Thomas had a red shirt year. He might be banking on implementation of a "five years to play five seasons" rule.

Sacred Heart team bio listed him as a redshirt junior.

I believe the rule is you can't play more than 30% of your team's games. Thomas played 9/32, or 28.1% of SH's games last year.

Hickman played 13/35, or 37.1% of UC's games this year.

Obviously there is more player movement this year + a greater sense of urgency for this upcoming season but...

UC has reportedly contacted Tanner Thomas, a 6'6 forward for Sacred Heart (14.5 and 6.1 this season). He was a RS junior this year, it seems, after playing just 9 games due to injury in 23-24. Sacred Heart, of course, was Cane Broome's first school.

I think it's gonna be night n day, and will finally see the finished product in Mitchell. I think the majority of us now, wish we had Pitino as a coach. I know I do!

I will be particularly interested on how Mitchell progresses under a great experienced coach like Pitino as opposed to what we've seen under Miller.

Travis Branham (247) says UC has shown interest in Cal transfer Andrej Stojakovic (Peja's son). Unless he sets up a visit, no chance here. I think he may end up at like Illinois but lots of heavy hitters here.

Stojakovic trending towards Illinois, where he'd join fellow Illinois transfers David Mirkovic, Mihailo Petrovic and Zvonimir Ivisic - brother of Illinois big man Tomislav Ivisic!

Yeah, let's see how Mitchell likes playing in New York City. The fans are brutal in the Big Apple. Being a poor free throw shooter might not be tolerated in NY like it was in Cincinnati.

Nevertheless, the fans will love his athleticism and death-defying dunks. Go get 'em Mitchell. Good luck to you.

While a lot of St. John's campus games are fairly mediocre, their MSG games against other high-profile teams often produce an atmosphere as electric as anywhere else in college basketball.

I'm 20 minutes from MSG by train so I try to catch a couple games every season but waited too long to do so this season and didn't want to spend $150/ticket once the team really got rolling.

I look forward to catching a few of Dillon's games next season.

No Question, the biggest roster loss this year! His defense and rebounding will be sorely missed along with his athleticism.

If Dillon works on his FT, and Mid Range Shot, he's a First Team All American! And a First Round Draft Pick!

Totally Agree! I get it, the Metrics used to evaluate these players is very useful!

However, It's really hard to judge / evaluate a player using metrics when he jumps from one team to the next...?

Totatally different Coach, Players, and most likely scheme on the new team. Is it not a coin toss, on wether the player progesses or regresses?

I think will have a pretty good clue, if Wes can Coach or not after this year! If Skillings, Mitchell, Reed end up progressing and the incoming players regress! Then will know for a fact what the real issue concerning the Cats is!
