I suppose guys in the portal could still play in the Crown if they haven’t signed elsewhere. But if they declare, I don’t want them in a Bearcat uniform again. But if the seniors play they would still have enough to make 7, and since there’s NIL money, why would they not want to play?

Four players and possibly five? On some level I would imagine that for some of the potential UC defections, it is about NIL money. On the other hand, I would imagine that for others of the UC players, they just do not see Miller as capable of coaching a team that can win the tougher games. Despite all of the money that is being thrown around to players, all players want to play for a coach that knows how to win.

It will be interesting to see where these players end up next. Hopefully, Miller can fill these open roster spots with more capable players.

He hasn't proven to be able to do that in the three years he been here. I was expecting not to be participants in the Crown tourney for the lack of player availability. I don't like being so cynical and I had high hopes for Miller when he first got here but I have not seen anything in his coaching ability to give confidence that he can turn this around.

Chad said on last night's podcast that he expects us to accept an invite to the Crown sometime today and compete with a total of 7-8 players.

He did state that our status was not a foregone conclusion, however.

I really hope that UC can field a team of guys that are dedicated to winning the Crown, despite the current woes of the program. Playing in the Crown can be the start of a new year with a different starting 5. You never know what the Crown experience can lead to for next season. Besides, it may give guys a chance to play significant minutes that did not play a lot this past year.

I really hope that UC can field a team of guys that are dedicated to winning the Crown, despite the current woes of the program. Playing in the Crown can be the start of a new year with a different starting 5. You never know what the Crown experience can lead to for next season. Besides, it may give guys a chance to play significant minutes that did not play a lot this past year.

I am sure that many in the Crown will be facing the same situation as the Cats. Therefore, I look forward to some guys getting a chance . I just don't see a lot remaining on the team who didn't really play. It will be interesting and I am looking forward to watching.

Lobot you are throwing out at (4) players, possibly (5)? I think you have EVERYONE's attention! Are you assuming/predicting? Or is this for certain?

I was thinking Page and Posibbly Skillings/Griffith. If Betsy leaves along with a few surprises, this disaster if you as me!

Page is a definite, Skillings is extremely likely. Griffith is likely but I'm curious to see how that plays out since he seems to want to be here. Reed is likely to move on as well which people are going to be upset about I think.
