The most critical part of the game and you can't even make a simple pass and catch on your end of the court. That's a sign that Miller does not emphasize ball security and apparently any passing ( and catching drills)

Wes needs set plays for Thiam & Miller in the paint! Thiam couldn't miss on the inside! Yet Wes would rather have Abaev & Kerr jack up 3s!

Baba Miller was our best player, it was 48-45 when he left the game with an injury. This team is not that far off, just keep getting better.

The talent is better. The coaching is still lacking. They will continue to lose these games against the better teams because of Miller.

thank you for not just hating everything and everyone. we played #6 team even, I know they may not stay #6, or maybe they'll be #1.... they got to the line more, and shot fts better, not to mention baba going out early... give us time to grow, my goodness. maybe this site isn't for me anymore..and that's fine...go cats

A clear coaching gap . This win was there for the taking .

Miller continues to tolerate, even enable, poor fundamentals and decisions. There is no penalty in his system for mistakes and that will always be the problem

We ended up being outrebounded by 3, but we were up 3 until Baba got hurt.

Miller is always outclassed in the big games and we do not have enough talent to hide his coaching flaws.

Say what you want, this team would be a lot better if Jizzle were still here.

No, were not hating on anyone. Were seeing the talent level get better year after year but still making the same to's, no boxing out, no following shots, same jacked up ill-advised trey shots, no desire whatsoever to scrum for loose balls, baby soft hands allowing opponents to easy steals, lackadaisical attempts to catch passes, all things that a coach is supposed to rue but tolerated here. They hire a shot doctor and Abaev goes 2 for 9 from the arc, I lost count from the previous two games! The thing that angers me most is the total lack of tenacity in possessing the ball. It seems that they just don't care when they lose / turn over the ball. In the four decades of watching UC bball I can't recall a team that's oblivious to protecting possessions like its their own personal bball. This game was very winnable but three straight trips down the court on two different occasions scoring no points plus losing three possessions resulting in points on their end of the court spelled a loss. I hope they turn it around but these things have been tolerated for too long now. go cats

Great defense, holding an elite offense to just 1.04 points per possession. But our offense reverted to the typical Wes Miller scheme against tough competition: too may midrange jumpers, not enough attacking the rim. Three pointers, turnovers, and offensive rebounds were identical for both teams. The difference is we took 7 more midrange shots and they took 12 more free throws. We scored just 0.90 points per possession.

Baba Miller was again our best player with 3.9 net points. He had 9 efficient points, 3 assists, and a team high 3 offensive rebounds to go with solid defense. Thiam and Harris also had positive statistical impacts, leading the team in DBPM.

Abaev was our worst player with negative 3.8 net points. Only 11 points from the field on 16 shots, 1 for 3 at the line, 1 assist to 2 turnovers, only 3 rebounds in 27 minutes, and one of two players with a negative DBPM. He had 32% usage, the highest on our team. He is skilled, but not nearly good enough to be a high usage an iso player yet at this level.

Day Day, Kriisa, and Tillery also had poor games with negative 3 net points each. Our guards went a combined 0 for 8 from midrange.
