The Bearcats will look to get back to winning ways at Fifth Third this evening against NJIT (3-3, KenPom #349, Bart Torvik #341). The Highlanders are coming off a 6-25 season in 24/25 and are hoping to win more than 11 games for the first time since 18/19 under 3rd-year head coach Grant Billmeier. They are off to a positive start in November as they already boast road wins over Fordham and Loyola (MD) in addition to a home win over local rival Farleigh Dickinson.

NJIT is a young team as their top 8 players in minutes so far are either freshmen or sophomores. They are a bad offensive team that has shot 38.7% from the field through 6 games.

The Highlanders are currently the lowest-ranked team on the Bearcats' schedule this season and, as a result, enter this evening as 32.5-point underdogs.

Not exactly the Jersey premier program. Oh the bragging after the beatdown from many in town. I will enjoy the victory though. It is time to work on the half court game as the Cards exposed that the Cats lack a quality one.

What is going on UC's stats this season? Why is the school so slow with updating the season stats? As of 8:41 am (EST), Monday 11/24/25, UC still has not included the stats from the UL game which was played Friday night. UC usually is great at updating the season stats in a timely manner. This season is something different. Does anyone know why UC is so slow with updating its season stats in men's basketball?

It is too early for the data to mean much, but Ken Pom has UC 167th in offensive rating and 2nd in defensive rating, 45h overall.

WVU (#74, just lost to XU yesterday) is the only other team in the top 75 on Ken Pom with a sub-100 offensive rating. And Seton Hall (#87) is the only other program in the top 90 with a 150 or worse offensive rating.

That said, surely UC's offense isn't that bad (and defense isn't that good).

Over seven foot tall, only twenty seconds off the clock and Thiam shoots a trey at the top of the key. You can't make this stuff up.

Here's the problem? These player do not suffer any consequences for bad plays!

Abaev had ill advised pass at the beginning and Thiam has an airball. Huggs or Mick would have yanked them!

Abaev reaches for the rebound and doesn't put his body on the opponent = no rebound
