    Seems unlikely.

    Nope! Miller has done nothing but devalue the reputation of this program with each passing year. If you hope to retain and rebuild support he has to go. You can't missfire on the next hire like this one.

    Wins the BigXII tournament and advances to the sweet 16 in the NCAAs is the only way he could potentially be retained. I hope Cunningham has been in touch with agents for other coaches to get the jump to fill the vacancy.

    From $$$$ Bearcat journal

    "Moustapha Thiam ruled himself out on Thursday and didn't participate in shootaround despite being listed as questionable. Wes Miller was optimistic he would play when he woke up Thursday morning, but ultimately Thiam didn't"

    Is the NIL money in the pocket the decision maker or is Thiam already out the door?

    I just finished rewatching the 2017 UC-Xavier game, the one where Bluett scored 40 against us. UC won by 8, with Cumberland and Evans getting to the rim over and over, Jr. Gary Clark out-muscling everybody inside. This year, we just don’t have those types of guys. Cumberland and Evans were just far more physical than the X guards, and UC won after X shot 70% from three and UC missed 20 FT’S. The Big XII is far more physical was that night, and our guards are usually just overmatched. So I’m not so sure this is on the coach unless we give him all the blame for the roster in the NIL era. I’m worried we’ll make another coach hire, but still not build a BIG XII roster, and back where we started.

    Also, the old 5/3 configuration was much more impressive on TV.

    Yea my bad. I confused the Utah in the B12 with Utah State of the Mountain West. Sorry for the confusion

    Calhoun is @ UT State (Mountain West Conference), not UT.

    Although the season looks like it is a bust, I hope that UC basketball does not give up on the rest of the season.

    You never know what can happen until you try.
    There is never an excuse for quitting, but what can the players think after hearing CWM basically cry on the radio. It is time to suck it up and play regardless of CWM. The question I have is if these young men have any heart after being paid and waiting on their next payday.

    Well, OSU just knocked off BYU at home. I do not believe that translates into UC winning out.

    [QUOTE=swilsonsp4;n432498]

    While it's increasingly obvious that this is the end of the road here for CWM, I doubt that any decision is announced until after the Bearcats' final game. There's too much chance that players would announce their intentions to transfer (given eligibility remaining). UC still has to put a team on the floor. QUOTE]

    Sadly, most of the players already know where they're going as soon as the last game is played. If not, you can be sure that they have their agents working as we speak to assure that they don't miss a paycheck. I'm betting that we have a total roster of players turnover to begin the season next year. The new coach ( if there is one ) will bring some of his players with him if he thinks they are capable of playing at this level.
