Yeah. The only mention of UC here was in reference to being beaten by UCF. Tied for last place with Utah. Both are 8-8 and 0-3.

I don't support the paper bag idea at all. It's in poor taste. Like chanting "overrated" in a loss or storming the court against an unranked team. Rather than target the administration, it tells the rest of the country that our fans are just as embarrassing as our play. We're not the only fanbase that has endured bad teams and coaches.

I think wearing a paperbag over your head, and I think of football. As others mentioned above, it's poor tatste, classless etc!

I have a feeling the University eys's are now wide open and this will be Wes's last year as coach. As I said previously if we end up with 9 or 10 wins this season, Wes will be fired.

Even Nick the Quick (Van Exel) came out in opposition to the bag idea.

Yeah, I am with you on this one. Even if UC has a losing record this season, let's lose with dignity and respect for the effort that the players and the coaches put into the program. Remember, we all want to win. That includes the players and coaches too.

Yes, as he is supporting his school. The thing is Nick isn't supporting the current se up. He said basically ride it out.

"Not a fan of the brown bag. I think they hear you all loud and clear, but the school I went to is not like that. We're all upset, but hang around when it's tuff. It's easy to jump ship when it's going bad. Let's cheer louder and be more together to change the season for the better. The players will feel it. Stay together!!!"

Who is the We're all -- Is he speaking for the alums. CWM is at war with Nick's buddy Terry Nelson and also with Steve Logan publicly. I suspect that the alums have spoken to boosters as well as some admins. I really don't see how CWM can stay. Do you suppose that some alums know the future? Now they are doing damage control.

Saw Jacob Evans and DerMarr also voice displeasure

They get it, but basically not a good look for current players or recruits

No bag for me! It sends the wrong message to the players. However, since most of them are new, they don't know the amount of lousy coaching we have experienced in the last 4+ years. JMHO!

The bag was to get attention as most fans know that only clear bags are allowed at public arenas in today's society.

I have a question. Other than Kayden Allen, is UC actively recruiting anybody for next season? I have not heard anything. Just wondering.

If Wes Miller is to be acknowledged for anything in his tenure here at UC it is that he was able to get some high profiled recruits to come here to play. Cronin was never able to do that as he was to timid to even attempt to go after these types of players. Now that Wes has opened that door, let's not slam it shut for good with some tasteless act of poor sportsmanship. Just because Wes can't win here and we need to be fiscally responsible in / and when he is let go, the bag thing would only exacerbate an already dismal situation and cause any potential new coach to not want to come here. This season is already in jeopardy, let's finish it with class no matter how disappointed we are as fans and let's try to attract the best possible coach that we can. I'm as frustrated as anyone at how these past five years have gone but unfortunately we don't have the luxury that some schools have where they can absorb a huge buyout on a contract. I think everyone in the city and county knows the sad state of the athletic program, some is of the doings of UC, and some is of the nature of college athletics today. I'll stay in my lane now but all we can do is hope that the next hire ( if there is one ) will be the correct one.

The only name I've seen is 4* SF Chris Washington of TN. 247sports.com ranks him as #58 nationally. Washington has given no indication as to his leanings or when he might make a decision. The Vols, Bama and Villanova have been in the mix.

In this world of revenue sharing and NIL, many P5 schools (including UC) are hesitant to pour too much cash into HS kids who need development. Unless a player is ready to contribute (or, better yet, thrive) in the B12, GM Corey Evans is unlikely to look in that direction. Money will go towards retention and the portal (as it does in football).

Interesting take and one I have not put much thought into. Does NIL help CWM in his efforts?

Cronin did not have NIL money to throw towards recruits.

Correct. CWM has NIL money to obtain recruits, both raw recruits and transfers but has not been able to translate them into a roster that wins. As BCB stated above, Cronin didn't have that. Much of the time when the elite schools went after recruits, Cronin would back off. He didn't ( at that time have the coaching " chops" as did others. The NIL helps CWM get them to UC but the transfer portal allows them to book at seasons end.
