Our upcoming trip up I-10 from Tucson to Tempe presents our best remaining opportunity to secure our first win away from Fifth Third Arena this season. The Sun Devils (10-9, 1-5 Big 12, NET #93, KenPom #92) have lost 7 of their last 8 games and are coming off a major letdown at home, as they lost to WVU 75-63 on Wednesday evening.
The popular sentiment amongst the fanbase is that Bobby Hurley has lost the locker room, so this could be an ideal time to play ASU as they approach rock bottom. On the contrary, they could look at UC's visit as a prime opportunity to turn their season around and play inspired against a team that is expected to be "offensively challenged".
Needless to say, the Sun Devils have not adjusted well to this new era of college basketball as they are looking at their 5th losing season over the past 6. They had to replace their top 8 players over this past offseason and the odds of Hurley being around to usher in a new group seems less and less likely by the day.
