Haven't posted in awhile. I think this game is breaking me. Just get a new coach. I don't care if there is a 1-2 year rebuild that comes with it. Wes is not the guy.

Arizona St is hitting some wild shots, but that's why you have to be able to score, especially against a bad defense. You can't rely on defense to win every game.

A pathetic performance against a bottom dweller in the conference who's coach said his team quit on him. We'll show you a team who quit on their coach. Meet Wes Miller. Our collection of guards have been horrible the last 2 games.

Wasn’t able to watch, thankfully I guess.
UC only shot 17 three pointers - they usually shoot
              that in a half ?
What kind of defense was Ariz. St playing ?

AZ St didn’t play much defense. UC doesn’t know how to score.

68 points in 70 possessions. Under a point per possession against one of the worst defenses in the conference. Odum went off tonight. He was creating everywhere. 4 for 6 inside the arc, 6 for 11 from deep, and 7 for 8 at the line. And when we doubled or went zone, he dished out 8 assists. That's going to happen sometimes. You have be able to score to overcome it!

Thiam was our best player with 2.4 net points, scoring 14 from the field on 13 shots with 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. Kriisa was second best, which says a lot about how this game went because he only had 5 points and one assist with negative DBPM. Tillery had the third best game, hitting a three with an assist, a steal, and an offensive board in 10 minutes. Not great when those two middling performances off the bench are among the top producers.

Day Day had the worst game with negative 6 net points. 0 for 6 shooting with zero free throws and a negative DBPM. Jizzle was second worst with negative 4.4 net points, scoring 6 on 7 shots with no free throws and a team worst negative 4.2 DBPM. Celestine was third worst. He made 2 of 5 threes, but had 2 turnovers with zero assists, zero free throws, and just one rebound. There's a common theme here. ZERO FREE THROWS. If guards aren't hitting jump shots, they need to attack the basket. I'm getting tired of small guards who can't get to the rim and either finish or get fouled.

Everyone else was close to neutral. Baba scored 16 from the field on 15 shots and added 7 free throws and 9 rebounds, but he also turned it over 5 times and fouled out.

Our small guards getting killed is nothing new. Of course I think Tillery is now the best guard option, so what do I know? And, if missed point blank open layups counted as turnovers, how would some of our guys look.

Here’s my starting lineup for Baylor. Tillery, Abaev, McKinley, Miller, Thiam. What have they got to lose? I’ll be there, I won’t boo, but man this is hard.

Day Day, Jizzle, Tillery, and Kriisa combined to go 0 for 5 at the rim with zero free throw attempts. What are we doing? You can't win getting absolutely nothing at the most efficient spots on the floor from your 1 and 2.

Yeah. I am with you on that one. The only guard that got to the rim last night was Harris. Also, he is the only guard to shoot free throws.

The guards came up short last night. But still, there were modest scoring contributions by Harris, James, and Kerr. The biggest problem of the night was a guard problem: Maurice Odum, who hit for 33 points. Although UC and ASU hit the same number of shots (27), ASU hit 13 threes and made 15 free-throws. UC only hit 4 threes and made 10 free-throws. UC's three-point defense was not there last night. ASU normally shoots 29% from three in conference play. Last night ASU shot 46% from three. What are the chances of that happening?

Also, after UC came back late in the second half and was within 3 points, Miller went into a 1-3-1 zone which allowed ASU to hit two crucial 3-pointers back-to-back. That gave ASU the cushion that it needed to win the game.

Miller has now lost 10 or more games in every season that he has been the UC head basketball coach. In previous years, it took Coach Miller about 26 games to lose 10 of them. This current season (25-26), Coach Miller has lost 10 times in 20 games. Miller is losing games at a faster rate this year than in previous years.

Likewise, UC has now lost 8 straight road conference games and has not won a game all season away from Fifth Third. It is possible for this UC team to go winless away from Fifth Third this season? Has that ever happened to a UC team?

UC has now lost every one of its national TV games so far this season (0-8).

With each loss, with are witnessing the end of an era at UC.

Last year, I stopped watching in early February. This year, it’s a few weeks earlier. Wes Miller is so bad.

I had no idea the Cats were playing last night. Actually, this is the 4th game this year that I missed because I don't even look at the schedule.
Most years I have the schedule memorized. Once one game ends, I'm looking forward to the next game. I never thought I could make it through the winter without being able to watch the Cats play but, I'm doing just fine. What a shame.
