That second half was very painful to watch. "It is hard to win with knuckleheads", K. Sampson. We just saw a case of a team full of knuckleheads lose a 14-point lead and blow a game that it could have won had it made better game decisions. It is painfully clear that UC CANNOT win CLOSE games with that backcourt. Too many turnovers and boneheaded plays at crucial times in the game. It may be time to start playing Tillery more minutes when the game is on the line.

Miller is now 1-12 on national TV this year. Also, this is the second consecutive year that Miller has been beaten twice in the regular conference season by a FIRST-YEAR BIG XII coach. As a veteran coach, that has to be embarrassing. I wonder what the other BIG XII coaches are saying in private about Miller. It can't be good. That loss may have been the straw that broke the camel's back for Miller.

Once again Miller, and UC basketball, has shown that it has no clue how to win close games.

I was watching this game with another family at a restaurant in Columbus that weren't fans... When we got up big in the first half I told them I guarantee we lose and they didn't believe me. After WVU took the lead I found myself cheering for WVU... That's how bad this has gotten and how much CWM needs to go. He has NO connection to Cincy or the Midwest and obviously can't coach here.. maybe he will have better luck going back to a smaller conference in the Carolinas. Its not his fault totally, Cunningham is responsible for the hire and extension and needs to be cut immediately. I don't want him making anymore coaching decisions.

On 700 WLW's coverage, the post-game interview with CWM was . . . . . interesting. CWM became very emotional - sounded like he was fighting back tears - when discussing the game. His tone was almost like he had been given an ultimatum - win or you're out. He said all of UC's fans have the right to be frustrated and he is as frustrated as anyone. He of course accepted the blame for the loss and not putting the players in position to win, as the blame should fall to him. He said the players are devastated and he is as well. It seems it's not enough or it's too late. IMO, he can't coach at this level of basketball. UC needs to move on.

There are two scenarios working here: 1. CWM cannot coach, or 2. These players have an average 10 basketball IQ. Cunningham has to go. Wes has to go and thankfully, most of these stiffs will go as well. The bright side; a new coach can re-load quickly in the modern times.

when it was crunch time, the players looked confused and JJ threw it away 2 times, Celestine jacked up a crazy 3 air ball and the perimeter defense disappeared. I want CWM gone, but the lack of leadership from the players played a major part in the lost. I agree with you about a good coach getting one. The problem is that the Cats don't have one. That is part of coaching. You can't count on the maturity level of JJ to do it. Day Day has lost interest, Kerr tries but lacks the ability and Tillery is a lost frosh out there especially on defense. I have said for the entire time CWM has been coach that although he was the PG and floor winner in his playing days, he doesn't seem to understand the role of a floor leader. It is for sure that he is developing one and he allows the worse traits in his guards to flourish. That being, no court vision, no understanding of the positioning/movement of their team and a reduction to jacking up threes. Yes some went in for JJ last night, but his extremely poor passing in key situations allowed W Va to build on their small lead. The pass to the right of Day Day and three feet away from his hands as well as in the final couple of minutes are unacceptable. This is where a floor leader `is needed. If the Cats had one, there was a big chance of their winning. When they played horrible perimeter defense ( it was the guards and not the depleted front court), I noticed instead of taking charge coming to the bench on tos or taking the ball down the court after a W VA 3, there was no emotion from our guards. I am not a mind reader but I believe all they wanted was to jack another hurry up with no thinking of team play. MY vent is over as I had to lose.

I like Tillery but his defense especially help is wretched. He allows too many uncontested drives to the basket, With the depleted front court, he had to be yanked. He infuriates CWM. Lee the quest6ion is why does CWM basically bully Tillery but allows the even worse play of Thomas and James. What is going on. Is this CWM's way of developing Tillery? The team is under.500. The team is not going to the tourney. Normally I would say play and develop Tillery, but is he already gone ? I am very frustrated with the play. Hopefully CWM will receive his buyout and a new coach can start fresh. Any knucklehead coach can go sub .500 so maybe if we get a coach who isn't a knucklehead, we can see better play. I believe we would be encouraged to see a new coach having a solid scheme and we see player development. I think we all would like to see a return to Beartcat hustle.

I post again. I heard the interview and thought he might cry. I also wondered if his emotions might cause him to quit right there. After he left, you could hear the anger in Terry concerning what is left of UC tradition.

                        1) It is crystal clear Miller can't coach at this level regardless of the players he has. Every coach in the league has the edge over him
                        2) Cunningham should go (but likely won't) because he hired Miller AND EXTENDED HIM as well as Satterfield.

What sucks is that we have to endure 2 more months of this garbage as it further erodes the program because of the buyout timeline.

hustle, heart, effort, basketball IQ - intangibles that this team does not have. they just roll over and give it away. partly on the players, but mainly on the coach, who can't set a winning tone, who can't instill these intangibles into his players, and/or signed guys who just don't care, who have no internal fire. it all goes back to wes. he seems like a decent guy, but he's had five years to develop a program. he can't do it. he needs to go.

we all thought uc had made it, when it got the call to the B12. Now, who knows how the P2 / P4 will mutate. If uc doesn't get its **** together soon, there's probably a good chance that we're going to be back on the outside looking in. the school can't afford to let this linger past this spring. same with football - I know uc won 7 games last year, but I don't think it impressed anyone. If satterfield can't get a respectable product on the field, the school needs to take a long, hard look at that program too.
