54 points in 60 possessions. 0.90 points per possession. 19 midrange shots compared to just 13 rim attempts and 9 free throws. We outrebounded them, blocked more shots, the turnover battle was tied, and we shot better from three. But WVU took 10 less midrange shots than us and got to the rim 5 more times and the free throw line 12 more times. That points to a scheme problem more than anything. I'm not sure if Wes even recognizes it as a problem.

Celestine was our best player. Only 8 points on 12 shots but with 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and zero turnovers. Baba was second best, scoring 10 from the field on 9 shots plus 5 for 6 at the line, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks. McKinley only had 1 point in 21 minutes but led in DBPM. Jizzle scored 18 on 16 shots but had 4 turnovers and no assists.

Kriisa was our worst player with two missed shots and no other stats in 15 minutes. Harris was second worst, turning it over 3 times in just 9 minutes. Dzellat was next, fouling out scoreless in 11 minutes. Day Day also had a negative BPM.

We are paying 43.7 million $ to tear down Crosley Tower. We certainly have enough money to buy him out & please do so quickly!

I wonder if JC (who should be fired first) can have a meeting with CWM and mutually agree that he leaves now with some dignity (resigns) instead of waiting until April 1 to get the axe.... they agree he receives his April 1 buyout and Wes gets to take a paid vacation for the next 2 months... I think that would be in the best interest of all. Let one of the assistants be interim and we can start our coaching search now before there's more competition for coaching slots.

I think Bob Bedinghaus negotiates contracts for UC.

I would like to think that UC, as part of the contract to enter the B12 agreed to be down near the bottom of the standings in bball and football until the time they start receiving full monies from being in the conference.
And I like to think that a search committee has already begun work on looking for and procuring a new head coach but then remember that the same people who hired CWM and CSS are those that most likely will hire the new coach. I don't put much stock in them.
Sometimes I sit and ponder why, if I were a donor giving away my money to UC, why am I not in the BOD offices demanding my money back. Any scenario now has UC as the laughing stock of the conference. A once proud juggernaut snuffed out.
In the past you would have seniors and juniors who assured that this is the way things are done. They were those who became the leaders on the team. In today's atmosphere you don't have that. With roster turn over the way it is, leaders have to be identified and designated by the coach. And it's apparent that CWM does not want one, or feels like one is not needed, or he's just been unlucky to not being able to find one.
I have never ever seen a team collectively panic in the closing minutes of games as CWM's teams seem to do. I remember watching a Georgetown player run down UD's point guard at mid court during the NCAA tournament in the Eighties. They fell short of coming back to win, but never quit, they never faltered and they never panicked. Their failing to win close games is all on CWM. They can see it in his eyes and his demeanor that he is lost and clueless as to how to win in close games. It would not surprise me, even if CWM is retained for another season we will have a complete roster roll over.

I have been watching Bearcat Bball for years now and have never seen a team quit so easily as this one. That falls on the leadership (coach). If we can see it, everyone at UC can see it. It's time to move on and start fresh.

UC is a university, and that $43.7mil is for exactly what UC should be spending the money on. Not one penny from the academic mission to support sports. If that means losing games, so be it.

There is nobody to blame but the coach. West Virginia is not more talented than Cincinnati. I never liked the players on any of Wes's UC squads up until this year. But this year he had the size, the depth, the athletes ...which all show up in defensive ratings. But the offense is bad, there is still no point guard. They don't even seem to be trying to correct Shon Avaev from jumping at the basket when he is shooting. They don't hit foul shots. You have to start at fundamental things and they are lacking on this team. I really think if you swapped coaches with West Va. .... we have their record.

We have height but not size. Another Wes issue, lean, athletic bigs getting pushed around.

Except for Jalen Haynes, that injury is more devastating than anybody realizes.

Over 50 years ago, my dad told me that for a team to win, they needed a good center and a great point guard. I still believe that after all of these years.

Maybe 50 years ago. Now you need a great point guard, a deadeye outside shooter, a forward with guard skills and an elite rebounder. UC really only has a forward with guard skills, Baba. The game has evolved even since UC last played in the NCAAs. Because CWM has not kept pace with the evolution is a very large part of the problem. The lack of players to fill those roles is the other problem.

Of course, those are the guys everybody wants, and in the pay to play era getting them will become more and more difficult. Now with free agency every year, building a roster only concerns $$$$, it no longer matters who the coach is. And if we want to compete for Big XII championships, it will take a final four level roster.
