I hope Tillery stays regardless of what happens to Miller. But I doubt that he does. That may be the thing that keeps Miller here, to keep Tillery. But I think Abaev is gone already.

If we win a few more, but barely miss the NCAA tournament, it will be an interesting decision. Haynes, Tillery, Thiam, Abaev, McKinley, Dzellat, even Jordi, there are a lot of guys who look like they could be valuable pieces on next years team. Harris is the only guy I wouldn't mind seeing go (wouldn't mind him staying if he wants to play 10-15 minutes per game, but guessing he will move to a lower level in order to start). If you can save $5 million and be sure most of those guys will return, there's an argument to be made for keeping Miller for one more year.

Cincinnati won as an unranked team on the road vs. a top-10 opponent today.

The last time it did that was Jan. 4, 1990 at No. 8 Louisville, per CBS Sports research.

These kinds of statistics are so meaningless. Starting after February 5, 1991, UC became a ranked team and so they had few opportunities to win as an unranked team for quite awhile.

I'm not dogging you, they did throw that on the screen. But we've got these nerds cranking out stats without context, and are thus, meaningless.

Our best hope for the big dance will be to win the conference tournament. That does not seem quite as far fetched with today's effort. So you're telling me there's a chance...

If they're going to keep Miller around another year, yes, I sure hope he is able to retain most of the guys he brought in, these constant roster turnovers, if the new norm, just make the whole sport not nearly as interesting to me.

Impressive win, shows what they're capable of, which I think almost irritates me more than I am able to enjoy it, because it doesn't really mean much in the end, if they're not a tournament team. I guess we'll see.

On WLW yesterday they were talking / asking if UC happened to pull off a victory against KU, is that enough for Miller to keep his job? What say you all?

In a way, I hope so. Going on the hunt for another coach and hoping he's the miracle man somehow seems almost worse (if that's possible)

The new guy would likely have a smaller NIL budget as well given that we'd probably have to spend 6-7 million to get rid of Wes.

I want Wes to earn another year, he seems like a great guy who really cares, his teams always play hard, never quit and the players seem to really like him. The pipeline for next year seems strong if he can retain guys. But the results on the court haven't been good enough up to this point. Go 3-1 or better over these last 4, win one or two in the Big 12 tournament and earn Wes one more year.

That stat included games where UC was ranked. They had a lot of good home and neutral court wins, though.

UC's frontline dominated Kansas today. Thiam hit for 28 and 8; Miller hit for 18 and 7; and Celestine hit for 14 and 8. UC's frontline hit for 60 and 23 to beat KU. UC dominated KU on the boards 40-29 and had 14 offensive rebounds. Wow!

I know that this is going to sound crazy, however I think that putting Celestine in the starting lineup has given UC an extra spark. Since Celestine has been in the starting lineup, UC is 6-2. He is shooting 43% overall and is shooting 41% from three in conference play. We all were very critical of Celestine early in the season. That includes me as well. However, to me, Celestine's shooting has improved over the season. As he has improved, UC's offense has improved.

Let's hope that Celestine can keep up the hot shooting.

Barring a meltdown down the stretch (which coulda happened starting with Kansas, & Texas Tech/BYU on the horizon), I thought CWM would be retained. But that’s just a gut feeling based on finances.

Really? His teams always play hard and never quit? It appears to me that they quit during several games earlier this year. If they had not quit during those games, we would not even be questioning whether or not UC makes the dance and CWM having a job.
