What if UC played this way at the beginning of the season? UC's bigs are really opening some eyes. Baba Miller is an amazing basketball player. He is 6'11" and moves like a guard. Thiam has a really good mid-range turn around jump shot. However, he is very lazy on the defensive end.

Somehow, I get the feeling that these outstanding performances by UC basketball are all-for-nothing. UC's non-conference 0-4 record against high-major teams will NOT be overlooked by the NCAA Tournament Committee. That is too bad because UC might be able to make some noise in the Tourney. Can we say NIT again?

To be fair, Jizzle wasn't on the team and Celestine was recovering from a major back injury. Just have to hope the committee buys that argument.

That EMU loss still stings, but we did play that game without Baba, Jizzle, and Celestine.

When all shots go in, it is a good game. The problem is that the next game, those shots will not go in but the team will keep shooting. This was a great win against a short-handed OSU team. Can the Cats win the next two games to make it into the NCAA? That is what they will have to do because of their bad losses along the way.

UC in a 3 way tie with WVU and BYU for 8th place at 8-8. BYU went 0-2 this week (including a loss to WVU today) and heads to Cincy next. BYU looking like less of a big resume game than a week ago. 9-7 TCU on the road to cap off the regular season. An 8/9 team would presumably need to go through Arizona if it wanted to make a B12 run.

Realistically, the ‘Cats won’t make the NCAA Tournament unless it wins the BigXII tournament. It might be nice to imagine, but that’s the only way it happens. They have made a nice run the last six games but I don’t think it’s enough to save CWM’s job. The only questions are will UC make the decision to move on when the season concludes and what will the buyout be at that time,

UC didn’t buy the jacket. The guy who did actually helped lots of kids in the Cincinnati area. Our friends at Miami(OH) reported the gift accusing the buyer as a UC booster, but he wasn’t. UC was later cleared and NCAA said Thompson could play at UC, but he was already enrolled at Texas. The guy who bought the jacket was well known in Cincinnati, but now I can’t remember his name.
