Won first conference championship in 21 years with a mark of 21-1 and received its first NCAA Division II No. 1 ranking since 1976. The program also won 30-or-more games for the first time since 1974-75. Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla was his assistant.

It won't be Josh Schertz. He signed an extension today with SLU. It's not going to be Rick Pitino: requires a huge contract and a large baggage car. It's not going to be Bruce Pearl. He retired because he got sick and tired of dealing with the portal issues.

I seriously doubt that Luke Murray is a top candidate. John Cunningham has made several coaching hires across different sports. All have been sitting head coaches. I hope the name Travis Steele never sees the light of day. Yes, the Redhawks won a ton of games - by trying to outscore subpar opponents who were facing an indifferent defense in every game.

Listened to Terry on with McAlister, he seems to think keeping Corey Evans may help us retain some of the current roster. May, he still expected mass exodus.

Assistant coach Luke Murray (Bill’s son) seems to be a candidate as well. Tough thing would be UConn making a deep run.

I just hope that they can figure out a way to structure the contract to make it easier for dismissal. The coaches always get bonuses for many achievements such as: number of wins, conference championship, conference tournament championship, NCAA invite, wins in the NCAA, etc. Why not keep the salary lower but load it with all sorts of bonus incentives. So, if you it all of your bonuses, you can make $10M but your annual salary is only $4M.

I would agree no slam dunk hire in Calhoun.

I would say he's the frontrunner of up and coming coaches. I am extremely skeptical of Travis Steele. He was a failure at X. He may be better suited in a lower league like the MAC.

Bobby Hurley is intriguing! He's had success and failure in a major conference.

I still like throwing $$$ at Pitino which is a long shot.

What about Bruce Pearl who is only 65. Yes he's retired, but he's been successful wherever he goes.

Maybe. I don’t think there is a slam dunk hire. Calhoun may be the right choice but no candidate is a slam dunk other than a Power 4 coach who has won a national championship.

Terry said if Calhoun is the guy, he could go with it. Finish the tournament first. That will make him tourney hard. Wants the experience of playing in the dance when we are hiring him to take us there. The money is there. He can make a deep run in the tourney every year.

He said our toughness eroded away. He wants a coach with in game strategy and toughness. He said they were able to win all but 1 or 2 games, but they couldn't close. WM let his emotions control him so that WM could not think on the sideline.

Terry is on the Mo show now. -- He said WM didn't put the right card on the table and refused to change the players as he stayed with the starters. No adjustment at the right time is the reason he was fired. He said not playing Tillery who was responsible for the 8 of 10 wins. He was the only one who could take the ball down. WM did nothing.

Mo said Cunningham told WM a couple of weeks ago and that is why he was so emotional. The team started to try hard to save his job (why would it take that). Some deep pockets were still with him, but the last two minutes of the UCF regulation game sealed the deal. Moe further said it might be a major upset if Calhoun didn't get the job.
