I do want that to be true.
Chad Brendel commented that UC will have sufficient donor support to build a strong roster. He did not elaborate.

Just me, but I don't believe that there is a pro team that would pay 4 million to a 7'2" skinny whose best contribution is a 3 point shot from straight behind the free throw box?

esp. when his hanger-on will cost another chunk of cash

for that or a bit more we should be able to get 2 solid bigs that play CJC style.

Keeping N'Diaye on the staff might be a good investment to get additional big men from the Senegal pipeline. Other Senegalese 7 footers that made it to the NBA include Gorgui Dieng, DeSagana Diop, Tacko Fall, Mouhamed Gueye, Mamadou N'Diaye, and Maurice Ndour.

So many fans are in denial about NIL. He will definitely get what he’s asking.

I get it, it’s getting harder and harder to care. Do guys even attend class anymore?

I do not hold it against any player wanting to get paid, BUT with everyone looking for their bag is it even possible to build the culture CJC wants?

Hopefully CJC and his staff can continue the USU model and find those overlooked and under the radar prospects and develop them.

Personally, I'd rather have players that WANT to come to UC rather than having to 'overpay' to get someone to come here.

I realize that is antiquated thinking nowadays.

Players are no longer getting exploited. I’m here for it. Coaches have been able to leave and chase money for eternity. Players now have the same freedom that coaches do. For that matter that every student has. After my junior year at UC, I got an internship with Procter & Gamble and made $10,000 in one summer. I was able to build a career where I made millions of dollars.

Sure, but are these guys students? I miss the days where we could watch guys like Kenyon or Gary Clark develop over 4 years, and we knew they were Bearcats. Even MLB has rules so that all players aren’t free agents every year. I guess we just have to get used to one year mercenaries wearing the CPAW, then moving on. I also never considered a 4 year full ride as exploitation.

I guess id say if u look at a kid who has an academic full ride, the university isn't making money off of what they do while at uc, but the athletes put butts in seats and more...so they deserve more...the details of that of course can be debated

Congress is still meeting this summer to determine if they can do anything about the chaos that is now amateur sports.

Birdies are saying to expect an influx of Utah St players to come over when the portal opens.
