    Basketball TV schedule

Am I the only person who thinks the TV coverage for hoops is pure garbage? ESPN+ is the dregs of college sports and we get a ton of it. Peacock? WTF, Home Shopping Network wasn't an option? No way I'm buying Peacock to watch a couple UC games. UC would have better TV coverage if they stayed in C-USA or the American. Time to fire the Big-12 Commish if this is the best they can do.

It's funny you posted this; I was just thinking the same thing.
I was thinking of subscribing to ESPN when I saw they covered all the pre-conference games but then the TV coverage goes all over the place for the conference games. I never understood why so many were against Mick and his 25-30 wins every year and the push to go to the B12.
I'd much rather be in the upper half of any conference, than be in the lower half of the big 12. This isn't fun.

I'm not happy about all the Peacock games either. But since we can't fix that, you don't need Peacock until Jan. 16 and if you're a subscriber of Apple TV service it's $12.99 a month if you go through Apple and bundle rather than the $19.99 directly through NBC.

The tough ones for me are the games on CBSSN and TNT. I think both of those are stand alone subscriptions for streamers at this point although that might change. If you have cable, it shouldn't be a big deal unless you don't get CBSSN in your sports package

Peacock is cheaper through directtv. I don't know the exact price as it is deducted monthly. I don't mind espn+/ Sure I would rather get them through sportschannel Ohio, but I am happy that I get them. I even laugh at the Spanish commercials, but since I get both NYC and Philly TV, I am used to them now.

I want the season to start now.

I long for the days when you didn't have to have search warrant and a atlas to find what channel your favorite team is on?

Bearcat Bounce. Hoard on TV with Anthony Buford.

The Bearcat Bounce. Back before TV contracts and Conference contracts ruled.

I used to love the Bearcat Bounce... In our new era, let me recommend the "UC Legends Unplugged" podcast that Terry Nelson does with Corie Blount. It's...a little more unfiltered/unhinged than the official "Cincy Reigns" one done by the always great Dan Hoard (the Cincy Reigns one is also worth a listen, I really liked the recent one with Roger McClendon). Terry and Corie give you a lot of behind the scenes history and some interesting game analysis.

I would like someone in the know to post how TV contracts are arranged. Peacock?! I suspect someone's palm is being greased.

I believe ESPN and Fox have rights to all the games. I believe they can also sell some of those games to Peacock or whatever. In our case a lot of games.

i think that the league may have smaller deals for some stuff (tier 3?) with tnt, etc. but, lets face it, after the last few years, uc is pretty much irrelevant in both bball and fball. games like that, that, other than, maybe degenerate gamblers, no one cares about nationally, are going to get relegated to crappy streamers. at least i don't think that we've dropped enough that we're on the cw yet.

Here's hoping that CJC can change this and bring us back to relevancy

It will be interesting. The old final scores under Mick Cronin may end up being half time scores this year. It looks like we’ll score more, give up more, and that kind of basketball actually appeals to TV schedulers.
