CJC must have delivered quite a halftime speech. The ‘Cats have defended exceptionally well in the second half.Comment

they clogged the lanes on defense. I enjoyed watching that. When they play team defense it is poetry in motion. They are athletic on offense. I like several players and i am looking for their development. Tejeda looked like a bearcat.Comment

Coach said that during the first half, there were too many "me shots". He said that kept them from getting into their offense.

1.07 points per possession to open the season. Rough shooting night, barely 50% at the rim and under 30% from three. Some of that is expected. Riley and Fleming have been poor rim finishers in their careers, and they combined to go 5 for 12. Something that will be a problem against better opponents. But I'll take 36 rim looks against only 6 midrange shots! Defense was great. 15 steals and 78% DReb.
Collins was our best player with 6.3 net points. Fleming just behind with 6.0. Iweze was third best with 5.8 net points on a game high 16.6 DBPM. Tejada, Mahaffey, and Elamin also had positive net points.
Lyles and Hastings posted negative 2 net points each in limited minutes, combining for 4 turnovers in 9 minutes. Colvin and Perryman were next worst, going a combined 1 for 8 from the field. Riley, Carson, and Allenspach also had negative net points.
11 guys played 13+ minutes. I imagine Green Bay will be more of the same. But it will be interesting to see what the rotation looks like against Minnesota.Comment

On CJC's radio show last night, he had no update. I was at the game and saw the med team working on Hastings' shoulder. It wasn't fully dislocated, but it did incur sublexation (partially pulling from the socket). They taped him up, and he went right back in. Unfortunately, he came right off again. The team put a brace or sleeve on it, and he was done for the night.Comment
