This might be the first time I've ever heard an announcer say "flare screen" when talking about our team.

Perryman has not been back in -- I guess it is a teaching moment

Tejada is apparently doing his Dillon Mitchell impersonation tonight. Decided to to take the night off. Collins too for that matter. Playing like they have in this game isn't going to bode well in conference play.

Too many players shooting shots that are not going in. Curious as to what the 3 pt shooting percentage was minus Colvin's output

1.2 points per possession tonight. 60% true shooting, 40% OReb, 71% assist rate, 13% turnovers. 18 for 25 at the rim and only 2 midrange shots! That's what I like to see.

Colvin had a monster game with 9.3 net points. 24 from the field on 16 shots and a game high 6 rebounds. Lyles was second best with 5.5 net points, scoring 14 on 10 shots with 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Mahaffey was just behind with 5.3 net points, a perfect 4 for 4 from the field with 3 assists, 2 steals, a block, and a game high 7.8 DBPM. Collins also had positive net points.

Tejada had the worst game with negative 5.7 net points. 0 for 7 from the field and a negative DBPM. Riley was second worst, only 2 points with 2 turnovers, 3 fouls, and negative DBPM in 16 minutes. Iweze was next worst, scoreless from the field with a negative DBPM. Carson also had negative net points.

Mahaffey can play any position. We haven't seen a guy like that since Rashad Bishop. Lyles is a versatile front court player who can switch. Carson, Collins, and Colvin are capable of switching to the interior. This team can play positionless basketball with the right lineups.

Post game, the coach said something about those players not working hard are not going to play. That the players are going to have to earn playing time. He was not happy with the efforts of a few of the players.

Didn't need to last night, but GB is not a Big 12 team. I didn't see many putting bodies on guys under the board. Hastings out hurt, but they must step up/ I am interested in how they go against Minnesota. I did love to see the flow of the offense instead of a 20 second plus dribble and a hurried shot or pass. This is a whole new team and so they need time, but anyone can put a body on an opponent if the desire is there.

agree wholeheartedly. no mumbo jumbo stats on this, but i think that you can be lacking in talent, but be long on heart and drive - if you can't play hard, go home, or to the end of the bench

Saw that. Maybe because of the uncontested bucket with time running out.

Just going by the eye test, I’m not impressed so far, it could be a tough year. But the season is long, and nobody plays their best ball in November.

Colvin wanted the points perhaps. Could we call that selfish?

They are a whole new team. team defense takes some time as well as learning to be a part of the team when you were the star on your former team. This is just the first year, but we all want the Cats to win and win big now. It is normal for fans.
