He was just one point shy of his career high.

yes but he had to know that he wasn't getting 3. He was also unguarded. I suspect CJC had a sportsmanship talk with him. CJC didn't look pleased after the shot but took the rebuke like a man.

Sometimes it's hard to remember that these are just kids who do dumb things. It's a learning process.

Have not been able to watch much and admittedly I have not read through most of these posts.

It will be interesting to see how rotations, roles develop through time. Obviously there will be injuries and some guys will emerge and others will fall into more limited roles. But as of today it seems like most of the guys are capable contributors and there is not a big drop off from guys who are starting and most of the guys off the bench.

All of which is to say, it will be interesting to see how Calhoun manages the lineups. There is potential to do a lot of mixing and matching and not being too reliant on certain guys (and having the ability to sit guys that are not getting it done), but also a concern on my end that they could struggle to find chemistry with too many moving parts. As long as guys are accepting of their minutes and not everyone expecting to play 35+ a game, I guess all good. I could just foresee situations where there are just never the right combos.

The past two games, the Bearcats played just about even with their smaller opponents during the first half. I understand that the first few minutes of the game, they are getting a feel of the game and how the officials are calling it. My thoughts about the past two games are that the Bearcats seemed to wear down the opponents and then pushed their will on the other teams in the second half. I hope that they get better in the first half because once the conference season starts, this team will not be able to wear out our opponents. For most of our players, they have not seen this kind of game slate before that is coming up in the Big 12.

Green Bay head coach Doug Gottlieb ways critical of the Cincinnati crowd tonight at fifth third arena, saying “if you want to get it (the program) back where it used to be, show up.”
Gottlieb said he’s a big fan of Cincinnati basketball and Jerrod Calhoun will get it turned around at Cincinnati, but emphasized fans need to show up for this team.

I wasn't a fan of Gottlieb (and his actions) from his ND days, but grew to respect him while on-and-off listening to him on his radio show. That being said, I'm a little tired of well compensated coaches lecturing us on how we support the program. Did either he or Underwood buy season tickets or contribute to our NIL or UCats before leaving town?

It took time for the previous coach to run fans off and it's going to take time to win them back. And the college fan experience is much different now; they're being asked, in this case, to watch a bunch of guys they don't know wearing UC uniforms versus a leeser known program. So shut up and coach.

And for what it's worth, I was at the game last night. They were fun to watch, a huge change from previous years' teams, but they have a lot of work to do before the conference schedule begins.

BTW, he did have a good line in his postgame presser - he said UC's team is a high-level mid-major all star team. And he meant it as a compliment, and HCJC took it that way.
