Winner to play in the Price Hill Chili Bowl or the Chipotle Burrito Bowl.

You can give it a patriotic name, but it still sucks.

That truly made me laugh out loud. Good one.

As I noted yesterday Mizzou is waffling (for some reason). Is it the buyout money?

Whatever the reason(s), they are really screwing up plans for a lot of other schools. ESPN really jumped the gun yesterday insofar as WVU to the B12 as a done deal.

But the back-up plan doesn't kick in until 3 or 4 more teams leave...

Come on Williams, get us the heck out of here. I really can't stand seeing any more articles about UC's steadfast devotion to the BE conference.

I hate to spread twitter rumors...but im going to because its the only thing that actually makes sense.

              From Greg Swiam...
What if Big East let UL leave immediately because WVU more important to league?" // That's exactly what is going on.

Perhaps the BE said, take UofL now, we are keeping WVU to its 27 month committment. If true, that would indiciate that the Big XII is interested in both schools. And that they would need one more to go to 14.

Every web site I go to, I see fans saying 'Take WVU, UL and UC as a package.' UL fans are saying this. WVU fans are saying this. B12 fans are saying this. (Well, the exception is of course UConn and Rutgers fans)

If only the B12 presidents could see the light and move forward with what makes sense. All this drama is killing me.

Could be fatal to Big East RT @ChuckCarltonDMN: Source: Big 12 might consider adding Louisville AND West Virginia to go to 11

Now, I can't see how if both of them jump and the Big XII go to 11 that they don't go to 12 and (hopefully take UC). Why stay at 11?

However, wouldn't that be something if, despite being a top 25 research university in a major metropolitan area with a good football and basketball program and a back-up plan, we got left out.

Yeah, I wish I could say I can't see that happening, but somehow I just have a gut feeling that it's a better possibility that UC gets left out than gets elevated to a better situation.

The Big 12 doesn't like the conference championship game from what I've heard. They don't want a flagship not going to the title game for losing a conference championship game.
"Lets do 10 shots of Jose before the EKU game!!!!"

I've heard that too. My point was only that 11 is an odd number - they would have unbalanced schedules and it just seems logical to expand to 12 if they're going to 11. HOWEVER, there's not a whole lot of logic going into the whole conference expansion discussion anyway.

It could end up being UofL in the Big XII first...

Where's John Boehner? Is he lobbying on behalf of U.C. or does he have better things to do, like run the government?

Anything other than a last minute lobby job by UL makes sense. You can't sit here and tell me that the Big 12 presidents were split on WVU and UL and decided to invite WVU anyway without resolving it internally first. That makes absolutely no sense at all. If the bump in the road was UL lobbying...then the Big 12 is going to have a publicity nightmare. This would not sit well with WVU brass. Getting an offer and then retracting it?? Come on.

I can't for the life of me think the Big 12 is THAT disorganized and THAT dumb and make THAT big of a mistake all things considered.

Now if the Big East said go ahead and take UL because we need WVU for a while to attract interest in new teams??? That makes sense. That is a bump in the road created by the Big East (the conference being raided) and not UL lobbyists. Perhaps Boise or other teams said...we will join as long as WVU is a Big East member...I can see that.

However, we already knew the Big 12 was interested in both schools...we still aren't sure if it's one and only one...or two or three or more. Here is another thought though...if the Big East is blocking WVU...are they also blocking UC as a possible 12th member?

After doing a little research it seems that there may (astonishingly) be some validity to the lobbying rumors. But this article is an idea of the publicity nightmare the Big 12 faces if the rumors are true.

                                http://content.usatoday.com/communit...2-louisville/1

Basically a WV senator calling for a federal investigation if rumors are true. Oh boy...strap on your seat belts...this ride ain't over.
