The internets are full of this report, but here's the link from the Idaho Statesman:
"The Big East and West Virginia are finalizing their terms of separation. Published reports indicate the Mountaineers’ exit will cost $20 million — with West Virginia’s new league, the Big 12, kicking in $9 million of that total."
Some other reports have said that WVU will also have to forfeit all conference revenues for this year (their football revenue was supposedly already withheld from them). Also, WVU will also have to pay the increase in Boise's withdrawl fee from the MWC, which according to this piece is $7.5-$9 million (not sure what their initial withdrawl fee was supposed to be).
However, even if it's "only" $20 million, that's a hefty chunk of change.
