Also,... The decision referenced was NOT the decision by North Carolina stating Maryland has to pay the 52 million. Typical Media sensationalizing and you have to read the sentences and statements closer.. First the NC court could rule in favor of the ACC and try to force Maryland to pay the amount BUT that isn't what this decision as about... this was a decision made by the three judges to throw out Marylands request to throw out the case because it shouldn't be tried in North Carolina courts becuase Maryland is an arm of the state of Maryland.. BUT these 3 judges in NC rejected that request and now they will move forward with setting a hearing/trial or whatever to see what Maryland has to pay, which will probably end up being less than 52 million. Again, this really isn't that big of news right now and very little has changed... going to take freaking years to resolve at this rate.... (as for how does Maryland court system, well their part of the Maryland goverment which money from the state government gets allocated to this state school and thus they would be partially responsible for paying the 52million)... But that may be moot anyways considering all that still has to happen before anything reaches the MD courts... which if the parties don't come to a mutual agreement in NC then the school will ignore all decisions made by the NC courts and start the process all over in the Maryland court, and they can choose to ignore it until the MD courts are done because they are both on the same issue. And if MD courts come up with a different verdict, **** I have no idea what happens at that point... anybody with a law degree know???

I don't think at this point the critical issue is "legal". It's whether maryland can come up with that kind of cheddar is the exit fee holds, and if not will the big ten advance them the money. As long as that is hanging over there heads in any court, you have to be prepared to fund it.
