    The University of Memphis has control of the stadium. Not sure who owns it. According the AI on google it is owned by UM.
    The city of Memphis formerly owned the Liberty Bowl, but transferred ownership to the university this past January. The city also tossed in $120M towards renovation, with Fred Smith (who else) adding $50M and UM paying another $50M.

    I've been of the long standing opinion that no one is going to take Memphis until they own or build their own facilities. USF is the same way despite the size of the school. USF is at least trying. Memphis is out here remodeling the Liberty Bowl.
