The Gannett Ohio newspaper's high school sports staff put together a top list of Ohio high school football players for this upcoming fall -- including, but not limited to, the 2024 senior class. None of the 23 players (or the various "honorable mention" selections) are committed to UC.

Given that UC has 18 commits and 14 are from out of state, not crazy I guess. But still a little surprising on paper to see.

As we know, Luke Fickell was extremely well-connected in the state, so Scott Satterfield was never going to come in and immediately replicate his in-state recruiting success.

Just pointing this out for purposes of potential discussion. I have zero negative thoughts about the current staff or state of recruiting at this stage. Obviously hope in the long term they can hit on some of the locals.

We’re completely still in the mix on the uncommitted guys on the list despite the fact that UC doesn’t get a mention anywhere. You can tell this article was written from a desk in Columbus.
