courant: After Mistake-Filled Game Vs. USF, UConn Tries To Get On Track At Cincy
Diaco talked about unforced errors that become penalties, ranging from holding to late hits to defensive and offensive pass interference, much of it coming from aggressiveness. They all lead to losses but sometimes are understandable. Some other things clearly aren't, though.

"To get another flag for taunting or a blatant block in the back, that's just stupid," Diaco said. "That's just bad. As a program we've moved on from that. ... No, no we haven't. We're still right there. How do you take care of that? You identify the guys you're really not reaching and don't have them play anymore. That's easy."

KOCH: Bearcats Hoping to Feed off Anger Against UConn (article w/video of press conference)

If you hang around the halls on the second floor of the Lindner Center and listen to the University of Cincinnati players and coaches shuffle from the locker room to the meeting rooms to the trainer’s room, it’s hard to tell which feeling is more dominant.
Is it disappointment or is it anger?

The Bearcats are 3-3 midway through the season, 0-2 in the American Athletic Conference, and the players know it wasn’t supposed to be this way after they were the overwhelming favorites to win the league championship.

AAC/Holmes: Bearcats Football: Searching For Consolation In UC's 3-3 Start
29 out of 30 first place votes, 15 turnovers, numerous injuries, a suspension, and three losses later we the UC fan base are left questioning how good (or bad) this team really is. Nobody saw this team or wanted this team to be 3-3 at this point in the season and it’s a safe bet to say the vast majority of the fan base is disappointed.

bains: Tuberville Insinuates Potential Quarterback Controversy In Weekly Presser
His (Tuberville's) comments about UC’s quarterbacks Gunner Kiel and Hayden Moore were interesting. “He’s a little pissed off”, the head coach says of Kiel, having been benched for Moore before the BYU game. In the days and weeks leading up to this game it was assumed both players were in a dead heat for the starting job last Thursday, especially considering Kiel was medically cleared in the Monday prior. So at this point it seems like it’s all performance that’s keeping Moore ahead of the junior on the depth chart. They’ll of course continue to battle it out each week for the rest of the season but if Kiel is walking into Tuberville’s office, asking what he needs to do to start, that speaks of a quarterback controversy at Cincinnati.

Having 2 quality QBs is a big win for UC. I'd like to see Kiel given every chance to succeed. Hopefully he'll get the nod this weekend.

Agree with this. Hope I'm wrong, but the remaining road games ( Houston, USF, and ECU) are going to be tough.

todaysu: Cincinnati Bearcats Have Tough Test Ahead in UConn
The Huskies have already surpassed their 2014 win total with a 3-4 (1-2) record, and are playing better on both sides of the ball.

“I think it’s one of the most improved teams in the league,” said Tommy Tuberville during his weekly press conference Tuesday. “They’ve got a new quarterback that’s really made them a better football team.”

sportsedge: UConn ready to battle fast-paced Cincinnati offense, homecoming fans on Saturday
This is also the Bearcats’ homecoming game, which should serve as a little extra motivation for the Huskies. UConn isn’t trying to be anyone’s homecoming, especially since they lost their own homecoming was last week against USF.

The game is sold out, and Cincinnati will be wearing “special edition uniforms” with crazy helmets that include a fat, Heisman-looking guy on the back.

                            Players to Watch:
                            Offense - MIke Boone
                            Defense - Zac Edwards

[COLOR=rgba(28, 28, 28, 0.901961)]UC's biggest strength is their passing game by far. They rank No. 7 in the nation in passing with 358.2 yards per game, which has catapulted them to become a top-10 offense.

[COLOR=rgba(28, 28, 28, 0.901961)]The weakness is also on the offensive side of the ball. The team is ranked 126th in turnover margin and continues to turn the ball over in crucial situations. They have lost 10 fumbles in five games and have also thrown the same amount of interceptions.
