Soony Dykes is expected to be the leading candidate at TCU in addition to the leading candidate at Texas Tech. TCU wants an offense minded coache this go around. This might get weird because the Offensive Coordinator that took TCU to most of it's big wins is Sonny Cumbie who's currently the OC/Interim HC at Tech for the time being.

Texas Tech is hiring Baylor coordinator Joey McGuire per reports.

UMass is now open as they have fired their coach in season.

Tech hire is official now. He’s starting immediately and Tech plays Baylor on Thanksgiving Saturday.

Thamel: Sources: UConn has targeted former UCLA and NFL coach Jim Mora as the next head coach. A deal is expected to be finalized in the near future.

Mora to UConn is a done deal. This has Tuberville/Pasqualoni vibes to it.

I had no idea Mora was preparing for a job as US Senator.

The silence on the USC search is making me nervous. Fick probably told everyone he would not talk to them until the season is over... Are they waiting for him? That position has been open a long time now and they are missing out on recruiting by waiting.

FIckell told them he's not interested if I'm not mistaken. The person USC is waiting on is James Franklin.

If that's true then we still have to worry about Penn State come knocking...

Yeah, that seems like a bigger issue for us.

I've written this before, and it's worth writing again. Why would anyone want to go to the B1G, where every year you will play second chair to aO$U? You will never win your own conference nor sniff a CFP spot as long as aO$U keeps rolling. Fickell should stay put at UC, continue to build the program, and if aO$U becomes open in the future, then leave to take that job. Fickell can have the stadium named after him if he wants to keep coaching at UC. He can have his statue outside the stadium. He will be adored, loved and cherished by UC fans forever should the choose to remain here. Why anyone would ever go to a conference knowing that you would be the second best program in that conference, at most? Stay, CLF, please.

                                Via the Football Scoop:

Sources with direct knowledge tell FootballScoop that [Mell] Tucker has an offer effectively in hand from MSU leaders to both extend the length and raise the salary in Tucker's current pact. Tucker, per sources, is considered a prominent candidate at LSU, the 2019 CFP champion that is seeking a new coach after announcing plans to part ways with Ed Orgeron.
