My hope for Coach Satt: Be a good steward of our players while you are overseeing our program. When you begin to get it in your head that you are bigger than the program, it will be time to leave and we will wish you well. We make coaches look good so they can get huge paydays, and then we do it again, and again, and again, and will keep doing it.

Actually, if you use your private account to conduct public business, then that account may become a public record for limited purposes. I work for the State of Ohio and have a separate mobile phone for that reason.

Dan Hoard spoke with Bengals LB Akeem Davis-Gaither who played for Scott Satterfield at App State.

- Spoke very highly of him. Satterfield traveled to Cincy last year to check on him when Akeem was hurt and Scott and his wife were extremely helpful when Akeem become a dad in college
- Thinks he'll be a good fit at UC because "Cincinnati and App State have the same underdog mentality."
- He's grateful to Coach Satterfield for believing in him. Akeem is from the Greensboro, NC area and says Scott was the only coach in the Carolinas to give him a chance

A good portion of the discussion pertained to filling out the staff and roster. Satterfield said his first staff priority is to hire a strength and conditioning coach and that he wants to have that done by the end of this week. He's interviewing candidates now.

As far as the roster is concerned, he said he wants to make sure that his staff hit the Cincy area hard because of the wealth of talent in the state. He will hit the portal to fill immediate needs, but wants to build through the high school ranks. He also is talking to many of his UofL commits to gauge their interest in coming to UC instead.

I am not for poaching from the former school, but that is football today.
