Ben is a good pocket passer. Evan has made great improvements each of the last two years, and I expected he'll continue to improve - his work ethic is A number 1. Add in Emory Jones, and it will be a tough QB competition. I think Emory will win the job and am hoping all three do well, but cheering for Evan to pull away

I am being optimistic and assuming the offense takes a huge step forward with some more creative play calling and one of the QB's stepping out from the pack.

I'm not brave enough to makes a prediction at this point. I want to see where we are with the new staff and players after spring ball. We've also got another portal window after spring ball and I would expect at least one QB to hit the portal.Brent Wyrick

Not knowing what our team would look like, I still have to say that BYU could be a win. Not knowing what OSU or Baylor will look like, they may be down.Comment

With very early info, I think our defense will be stellar and it will help us stun Pitt to be 3-0 heading into conference play. The entire City will be pumped for that first Big 12 game (hopefully Nip at Night), and add in that it will be against a traditional Blood Blood in Oklaho - it all adds up to us getting the win over OU. Unfortunately, I think we come back to reality a bit after that, especially if the game in Provo is a day game, though that travel will be hard on us, I expect BYU to much improved with Slovis at QB. Travel in the Big 12 will be a problem with crowds too, except Houston which will be completely demorialized by time we face them. I think we have a significant homefield advantage, with great luck to get 5 conference games at home, and only 4 on the road.I am being optimistic and assuming the offense takes a huge step forward with some more creative play calling and one of the QB's stepping out from the pack.

My prediction is that it will be a tough first year. Players and coaches getting used to each other. 5-7. Maybe an upset somewhere (my guess WV) to go 6-6 and be bowl eligible. If they were to go to a bowl next year than I would take that as a win and a great foundation to build on.

BYU definitely will be at night, as it's on a Friday. That won't help. The Cougar faithful get rather noisy after the sun sets. I've never been there, but it's easy to see while watching on TV that that place rocks.

BYU, at home at a high altitude, always have a great advantage over teams from low altitude areas that do not have sufficient time to acclimate, prior to the game. UC played BYU there 10/16/2015 and went toe to toe with them in the first half; but, UC fell apart in the 2nd half through exhaustion. Scoring by qtr: UC 10, 7, 7, 0 and BYU 0, 10, 7, 21. It was televised and the exhaustion in the UC players was noticable.Comment

I remember this game. Tuberville gave up and punted the ball at the end of it when you would normally throw a heave downfield and see what you could get. Fortunately for us the the Strength and Conditioning guy that came with TT is probably no longer employed anywhere after his stint with us. I think we'll fare a little better this go around but the altitude is definitely an advantage for them.BYU, at home at a high altitude, always have a great advantage over teams from low altitude areas that do not have sufficient time to acclimate, prior to the game. Through a little research, confirming that the former S&C coach under TT no longer works in college athletics (last stint was at UC) and is now in a completely different field -- still in the Cincy area though

Dang, I do feel sorry for a couple of these teams. It's no wonder SMU is clawing at every Pac10 rumor. HOwever, I am more pissed that UT/OU blocked us in 2014-16 (I forget exact dates). We were ready then and proved it. So glad not to be in the AAC again. I honestly don't care if we only get 3 wins year 1, we will grow into it.Just for fun, here is the 2023 AAC schedule! http://theamerican.org/news/2023/2/2...-schedule.aspxRed and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.
