That doesn't exactly help UC recruiting in the Indianapolis area ('Bama pedigree and bona fide program builder)...between the Wisconsin hire last year and the recent Mich State hire and now this are we headed toward football oblivion? Can anyone make me feel better about UC's recruiting prospects short and long term?

smart --He will recruit, but I believe he will have the ear of the Interim.Originally posted by Lobot View PostOregon St.'s new coach Trent Bray is the current DC but he was not named the interim HC by the school when Jonathan Smith left. As a result he won't coach in the bowl game and is basically wandering off to focus on recruiting and the portal along with administrative duties while his receivers coach prepares the team. Weird.

Over the years/decades (if I remember correctly) UC has had success getting talent out of Michigan, particularly the Detroit area. This Jonathan Smith hire will hurt UC - he'll attract the tough, hard-nosed 3 star talent and develop it. He builds teams from the inside out, OL and DL first and then he'll get skill positions through the portal as needed. ...with CLF at Wisco, Smith at MSU and O$U being O$U the Bearcats will struggle for talent from the Great Lake States going forward. I hope Coach Satt can have success in the Carolinas, Virginia, Florida and Georgia...can Coombs still deliver greater Cincinnati as in the past? Will BC continue getting Catholic HS talent, this new Syracuse coach is getting a lot of buzz. Heck, UC might have to fight Holy Cross and Miami for local talent if the football program is perceived to be on a downward spiral and unable to compete in the Big 12

I'm just interested to see how he does at SDSU in general. The situations with the coaching changes are different but I'm curious if Lewis can recruit there long term vs. Satterfield at UC.Originally posted by D.A.H. View Post
it'll be interesting to see if he can draw any of the colorado decommits to sdsu. somehow, that seems like it would be karma for coach prime.

Sean Lewis is the top target for San Diego State, per Chris Vannini of The Athletic.
Lewis is an OC at Colorado and was the head coach at Kent State last year (and part of the UC coaching search)

Bobby Petrino - Arkansas - together again? It'll be as OC but Thamel and football scoop seem to think this is happening.
