To be fair CTT was only two coaches ago and that may be the only comparison to CTT that CSS has in common. Could you imagine how different Gunner Kiel's career would have been under CSS? Talk about a great what if, because I believe CSS is ten times as engaged as a coach as Tubbs.

Satterfield is NEVER involved in the huddles during timeouts and game delays. He is always standing on the sideline and does not interact with the players during the game pauses. He leaves that to his coaches. This is one of his habits that worries/irks me about CSS.

I thought it was a great football game. We played most of the game without our top running backs. Sorsby carried the team on his shoulders for all four quarters. If our kicker made those two field goals we would have possibly won the game. As for Satterfield, he is a good coach and could be 5-0 with a little luck. But look guys, we are playing in a great P5 conference not the AAC. For you fickell fans, he is 2-2 in a major P5 conference. He got his #ss kicked at Alabama and USC. I like our coach and what he has done. He’s building a program, just like you all sat back and gave Wes Miller patience to develop his program. I have been a Bearcat fan since 1968. Go Cats!

I noticed this too and even commented earlier in the thread although not to the extent BDB7 has. It comes across as him ( CSS ) not wanting to be here or doesnt want to get too emotionally attached to the kids ( maybe the portal may contribute to this ) or maybe he finds it easier in the case that kids dont buy into his program and subsequently is ask to leave. So why would a kid buy into a program whose head coach is unapproachable or even friendly. Its a far cry from the economies of Luke Fickell and Butch Jones. TT sort of had that same demeaner.

This game confirmed some feelings I've been dreading:
1. Sorsby is on loan. He played his butt off for his team and teammates. That said, if he continues to play at this level, next season will lure more NIL at a traditional top 15 brand school and we're back to portal. We have to develop our own QBs even knowing they'll probably leave with the NIL/Portal world we live in.
2. Satterfield needs an OC. The last series had a number of issues with the refs. During these pauses, CSS was dealing with explanations, arguing for the good of the team, etc. and the subsequent play calling was impacted. I think an OC is critical and really becomes apparent in these situations. Time management/play calling was horrendous by all measures because there was no one to huddle them up while the CCS is arguing run-off issues. 1:53 with 1 TO in order to get into FG range under 40 yards should be expected.
3. Our Defense in the Big12 is the only way UC is going to rise to the top of the conference in the next 2-3 seasons. Unless our DC leaves, we're playing his 3-5-3 the rest of the way under CSS current contract. Dontay lived in the TT back field the entire game and I believe our DL only had 1 or 2 TFL and 0 sack.

2. Technically we have an OC in Brad Glenn, he just doesn't call the plays. I get what you're saying here. I'm not sure if Glenn is on the field or in the press box off the top of my head. CLock management was a real problem regardless of the refs shenanigans.

3. I suspect Veidt will be staying for a while unless someone backs up a money truck. The DL did what they could. The TTU offense is designed to get the ball out so quickly that there's only so much you can do there. Tahj Brooks is a good running back and hard to tackle. Anybody got a QB hurry stat? They don't really track that offifcally in college I don't think.

This may be inconsequential but on both the
misses, I thought the holder was not directly
behind the snapper? So the first snap was in on
him a bit- still handled it & got it down but was
timing just a bit off because of it ?

The Red Raiders are the top-scoring team in the B12. They came in averaging 40+ and did so again. The Bearcats' offense actually outscored the TTU's offense in the game.

I'm not for moral victories, but I didn't lose any sleep last night. UC were 3-point road dogs and lost by 3. That, unlike Pitt, was not a bad loss. Far from perfect, but they're now competitive in a league that embarrassed them repeatedly last year.

Let's hope the injuries heal over the bye week. Onward to the Bounce House.

Sorsby is impressive. Flat out. As someone else said, interception are part of the game and his first came in the 5th game. I think any of us would have taken that before the season started. Good stuff by that young man.
I am disappointed by the loss but not distressed. We are improving. There is reason to hope. We have been told all along this defensive scheme was hard to learn. It has also been successfully used by the coach in the past. The learning curve stinks, but we are headed in the right direction.

We scored 41 points and our top offensive threat was out after the first series.. I don’t think the problem is our offense. Sorsby has shown himself as a very good quarterback. The defense is another story. Hopefully they will get better with experience. We could (should) be undefeated right now. Overall I think we have progressed since last year. We will find out.
