I was thinking 220 might be a little low for a state of the art facility with computer labs, network, WiFi, science labs, and adequate HVAC for so many classrooms.

Bengals have been THE poverty franchise of the NFL for decades and we're talking about if Mike Brown is gonna pony up 9 figures to build a new Colerain high school? Lmao.

I didn't say he would even consider doing it, but since Forbes says he is worth $4.9 Billion, giving us $200,000,000 would still leave him with $4.7 Billion, plus a great HS named after his father. Just dreamin' I guess.

Other ideas being floated are merging grades 10-12, and using the current Northwest HS as a 9th grade school, but that is a far drive for kids who live in the southern part of the district. Our district goes basically from Cheviot in the south, to Fairfield in the North. I even made the suggestion that we ask Mike Brown (net worth $4.9 billion according to Forbes) to pay for the school, and we would name it Paul Brown High School. Reality then set in, so that idea was not pursued.

Whatever we do, lots of people are going to be unhappy, so we are taking it slow.

In regards to the thief, that was probably 8 years ago, and as I recall, the thief got probation, but the program closed down for a year, and has never been the same since that happened.

          Chris,

Has there been any movement regarding the HS merger proposals? Is this a dead issue, perhaps even in the long term? I've seen in some BOE minutes that they've discussed open enrollment and two upcoming tax levies that expire in 2027 & 2029, but nothing recent concerning construction, aside from the new elementary school.

Nope, the issue is dead for at least 10 years. We simply don't have the money, and the state is not willing to help us. The topic never even comes up anymore.

There are a lot of high schools in the Cincinnati area. I'm not sure why we have a separate thread for Colerain on a Bearcat site. No disrespect intended to Colerain or anyone on here.
