The coaches have to get the tape and make the entire team sit through it. Disgraceful!

It's funny that both Satterfield and Fickell are really struggling with their new programs. Fickell is 5-6 overall and is 3-5 in the BIG 10. Currently, Fickell is on a 4-game losing streak. Satterfield is 5-6 overall and 3-5 in the BIG 12. Guess what, Satterfield is also currently on a 4-game losing streak. In 2 years, Fickell is 12-12 and 8-9 in the conference with one game left to play this season. Satterfield is 8-15 overall and 4-13 in the conference with a game left to play this season.

Any bets on which coach will either resign or be asked to leave first? Think about this for a second, Fickell was 57-18 at Cincinnati in 6 years. I have wondered now for two years, with Cincinnati going into the BIG 12, why would Fickell NOT stay at UC and cut his Power 4 teeth on BIG 12 opponents? I am sure that Fickell would have been more competitive in the BIG 12 than he is in the BIG 10 and would have been more competitive in the BIG 12 than Satterfield currently is.

Sorsby may be somewhat of a head case. The way he just tosses the ball around as if he is throwing a Nerve Football or something. The more I see Sorsby, the more I wonder if he no longer believes in the offensive schemes and play calling or if he is really NOT that good of a QB. What has happened to Sorsby the tail half of the season?

If Fickell is available at the end of the season, does UC ask him to come back to coach? CSS has not worked out and I have serious doubts he ever will. Fickell has had success at UC and could continue it if he came back. I doubt he will be available as Wiscy gives him one more year, at least. But, what do you guys think about taking him back. I would without a doubt.

I think Fickell really benefited from having a great class of NFL players at his disposal here at UC... along with playing very weak competition to inflate our wins. The playoff team was stacked with NFL talent.. .and a lot of that talent was already here when he became coach. He bailed to Wisconsin because the best players were starting to graduate, leave for the NFL, etc and he knew it was his last chance to get his bag of money before he started losing here too. That's just my opinion... leave while you're still a hot ticket item

You can ask him but as long as John Cunningham is here, I don't think he's saying yes.

I'd like to find out more about that relationship because it seems like it went way south when John C. fired Brannen.

And again, Fick was out of here the year prior, to ND, if we don't make the CFP. Freeman and Mickens were the best coaches on that staff.

I could be wrong, but I think there was more to Luke leaving than meets the eye. I remember hearing that we were prepared to either match Wisconsin's offer, or come pretty darn close to it. Now of course there's a boatload of other financials to consider outside of his salary alone (Ex. Coaching Pool) but I do think people who claim it was strictly about money might be mistaken.

I don't know, but I get the feeling it wasn't all roses behind the scenes for Luke and Cunningham. Fick built this program, was about to enter the P4, had his highest ranked class ever, and by all accounts he and his family loved the city. I'm not sure that I buy that he's going to uproot his family, which includes school-aged kids for a rather mild bump in compensation.for his assistants, or because he was driven by NIL. I would also argue that if he simply cared about the ability to win, and to make the playoffs, then UC was a better gig, both immediately and long term.

So what gives? Who knows, but I have sneaking suspicion that one way or another John Cunningham is the reason he is gone. Be it because of a personlality conflict, a difference in vision and approach, or simple ineptitude, I think sthat somewhere along the way Cunningham screwed the pooch so to speak.

PS Some may scoff at this but I wouldn't be surprised if the Brannen situation played at least some small role in all of this. Luke was on the hiring committee that chose Brannen. Both coaches are of similar age, and of similar backgrounds (Former D1 athletes, from same region, both areCatholic, and both have young kids).

The fact of the matter is Cunningham completely screwed that entire situation up. Whether or not people are happy that we moved on is irrelevant. The way that was handled was an absolute joke. We saved little to no money in dragging it out and trying to get out of paying him. To me, that some real Micky Mouse sh!t. Well run athletic departments don't operate that way. Pay him his money and move on. They decided to railroad that dude to try to save some money, which they ultimately didn't even really accomplish. Cunningham made the program look bad, made he department look inept, and tried to destroy someone's career in the process. Not a good look
                        IMO.

Cunningham essentially destroyed Brannen's career. I would think any coach would do a double-take at seeng that entire situation play out.. It's one thing to fire someone early in their tenture; but this was certainly not that. I know a lot of people have different opinions than mine but my perception was that they railroaded him to try to save money, simple as that. To me, Cunningham comes across as a weasel. And I can't imagine I'm the only one that feels that way.

I am concerned about how many and what recruits eventually sign on the dotted line...will some verbal commits bail because of the bad year or will they see opportunity for early playing time?

Wisconsin may well end up 5-7, and they will miss a bowl game for the first time in 22 years. Fans up there are not happy. I'd be willing to have CLF come back here, if the decision were mine.... https://badgerofhonor.com/wisconsin-...-loss-nebraska

Football doesn’t seem to be getting much from Sattetville’s recruiting …..more small school transfers & 3*’s that aren’t really on anyone’s radar. For sure we are seeing the results of that this year, yeah, there’s Golday, Royer, Pryor to an extent & of course Kiner, but who else is new and making key contributions? Recruiting classes can’t have 4 contributors. We lost three key recruits (I believe two were 4 *’s, and we’ve seen two 4 * QB’s turn into zero snap players. I believe Samaj will hit the portal, which is a shame, yet another 4* QB wasted under this clown’s watch. There is zero chance this gets better, pony up the bucks & fire this joker who everyone knew was to be fired two years ago when Cunningham started this debacle. I’ll enjoy my visit to Nip at Night Saturday despite watching the finale of 5 straight losses, and like others have said, turn to basketball in November just like when I was a student at UC.
