Pace was the MAC defensive player of the year, and Beavers came to UC from UConn, who was quite respectable at the time. Let’s hope these guys from the smaller conferences and schools do turn into good players for us, but I really would like to see more coming from top 25 teams.

In an earlier post you said a starter at Ball St is a backup/walkon at Ohio State, yet you want backups from top 25 teams. Are they not the same thing? Starters at top 25 teams rarely leave, so we aren't getting many of those type players unless there is a coaching change, huge personal/behavior issue, or the guy got jobbed on NIL.

Also Bearcat Bunch noted that Will Whitson and Cam Calhoun are in the portal. Calhoun was committed to UC at one point a couple of years ago under FIckell. Both are from Winton Woods HS

Don't get me wrong, I am glad he is coming, but he was 3rd team All MAC this year. Bring me some backups from Penn State or Georgia type schools.

Tyo is considered the top o-lineman in the MAC. Just as Pace was best at his position in the MAC.

UConn was 3-8 and 1-11 in Beavers’ two seasons there.
