Yeah, I just cannot understand how Lichtenburg's play (granted, I'm not at practice, of course I really don't know) led to a 4* HS QB to become a LB that never plays. Whether or not Sorsby can become the Sorsby that made some sweet plays in that TX Tech game, I'm not sure, there were also some key mistakes he made in that game, too. I'm still undecided that he's the guy. But unless we win the transfer lottery in the next few weeks, UC is poised to win about 5-6 games next year, max, as we will rotate into some of the harder B12 teams (this year was the year to get to 7-5, honestly, we played a weaker schedule and caught AZ St w/o their real QB). I'm not really an Urban fan, but really, it's going to take someone with some personal reason or connection to want to come here. The local recruiting is non-existent, our AD has a penchant for lower tier hires and our brand is squarely in the toilet. Urban fits that connection and he's proven to be a winner in college football. I don't think I've seen any evidence that Scott can manage a QB room, so Samaj not beating our Lichtenburg wouldn't surprise me at all. It wouldn't make me think for one second that it's the right decision. The fact that he didn't even get a token option/wildcat play while losing 5 straight is confounding. Prater only got one as it was Senior night.

Nah, I was was referring to Scott’s promotion of Lichtenstank to #2 leading to Dragosh being converted to a never used LB. I believe one decision fed the other.

              My immediate thoughts:
              1) Whoa, that's surprising and cool
              2) That NIL package must be sweet

Glad to have him back and no knock on him re: #2. Just times have changed and look through a different lens.

Great news! I am feeling much more optimistic now. He was probably told that this year's draft was loaded with D-Linemen, and with his health issues, another year of college would really behoove him.

I'm sure there's plenty of NIL $ for him. If he didn't get a good draft grade because of the blood clotting issue, He might have come out ahead there.

That's big. He's the starting center. I didn't think he had another year left.

Someone posed a question as to whether or not coach would have the support of the players. My take is that Sorsby, Corleone, and Gerhardt are three of the biggest names on the team right now. Does that suggest the support that was wondered about? Certainly more so than if those three were among the first to leave.

I think it does. Whether or not the players support the staff sometimes depends on the mindset and personality of the player. Are they a positive thinker, a negative thinker, etc. The positive thinkers are staying from what I can tell.

I noticed all the DBs that went into the portal did so just before Coombs was let go. I think those guys supported Coombs as their position coach and are out because he's leaving.

As far as the WR room goes, we need help and not sure what the issue was. Lots of playing time to be had.

Could be the WRs don’t like the play calling? I want WRs who will block on outside runs and sweeps as well as run good routes to create separation. UC had not enough of that type on the roster.
