Here are the major conference championship games that will be sending at least 1 team to the playoffs. What are the matchups in college football's conference championship games? tosu will go even though they are not in their conference championship game. This is why the B1g and SEC pushed to have the expanded playoffs. Combined, they may end up with 9 teams in the playoff.

I say expand the playoffs to 24 teams, which is same number as FCS. Do away with the CCG and award the automatic bid based on regular season championship, with tie-breakers. Give a bid to all 9 or 10 FBS conferences, acknowledging that several conferences will be one bid conferences. Leaving a 10-2 BYU out of the Playoff is as bad as including a 9-3 Alabama. 24 is a tried and true number for FCS and you can reward the top seeds with another home game instead of a bye.Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

I would like to see the conference championships be part of the CFP. With conferences now having 16+ teams, expand the conference championship(s). #1 could play the winner of semifinal between #2 and #3. If there are enough teams in a conference, you could always expand it to include a game between #1/#4. This would directly benefit the conferences as they would have an extra game or two to gain TV revenue from.

I'm seeing media people advocate for CCGs to go away completely.
A lot of that noise is based on the ACC game where if SMU gets beaten by Clemson, the ACC might fall completely out of the CFP. It's an issue for the ACC because SMU is at 8 in the CFP rankings but Miami is 12 and not playing this weekend. If Clemson wins that game, what you do with Clemson and Miami? They didn't play each other this season.Brent Wyrick

Yormark is mad and letting the CFP have it. The CFP ranked ASU and ISU 14 and 15 and Boise St at 10. Boise has played one P4 team all year @Oregon and lost. They played them close but they have also had 3 close call wins @UNLV vs Nevada and @Wyoming.Brent Wyrick

As to the Big 12, I agree two or three of the 10-2 Big 12 teams should be ranked ahead of Boise, but we should also have had two or three 11-1 teams to leave little doubt. If ever there was a year we get more teams in the CFP than the SEC, this should've been the year. Doggone Kansas!
As to Big 10 and SEC, we also have to root for Texass and Oregon. Georgia won't fall out, but it becomes difficult to include Bama and Ole Miss/ Honestly the SEC is a 3 bid conference (UT-Austin Vols, and Dawgs). Oregon winning the Big 10sets up a clear/definitive #1, and cements the Big 10 as a 4 bid conference (Ducks, PSU, Suckeyes, and IU).

This isn't really a bowl but I wanted to promote this article on the Army/Navy game because it's really good.
