Just so everyone knows, the ND player who ran back the opening kick-off was just a lowly transfer from Marshall. I guess that you can find gems anywhere. It just goes to show you that sometime the underrated high school players are better than overrated high school players (Juice comes to mind).

Now that the first playoff season has ended, I hope they look back and change some things up. The seeding was all wrong - no need for the byes for conference champs. I am not sure they need 12 teams - at least 4 teams never had a chance at winning the championship. And I think it was too long - it should end no more than a week after the new year.
Having said that, I think a lot of teams will study aO$U's model going forward. That team supposedly spent $20M in NIL money but a closer examination, at least on defense, shows that the majority of those players were 3-4 year players on its roster. Smart coaches will use it as an example of why a player should stay the course at a school and grow together as a team, using the transfer portal to fill in holes on a roster. Depending on the transfer portal to build your team is not a recipe for success but can be used to supplement your roster. HS recruiting will remain the core of a team. Those coaches who can sell players that vision will be successful in the current playoff model.

As to 3-4 year players, I think every coach is preaching that right now. The problem is players have to go where they'll be paid, which means schools have to up their offers to players after freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons, unless the Wisconsin case works out for the BAdger allowing multi-year NIL deals.Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.
