I kind of think that this may be a moot point since 2030 may be the next round of realignment with the TV deals set to expire. I think the KC thing is really geared towards the Chief's building a domed stadium. I was curious that the author mentioned Soldier Field in the winter but not Detroit with a domed stadium. Detroit would be B1G 10 territory just as Chicago if that is the motive.Comment

Yes, because the NCAA still can (and does) ban schools from postseason play, if the APR falls below the minimum level permitted. It just happened this week to Akron (not that the Zips were likely to play in a bowl anyway). After the 2023 season, the NCAA restricted Akron's practice time because of low APR. Then, the Zips' score dropped again, leading to the ban.Comment

With an entire basketball team leaving in the transfer portal or going pro, how do those teams continue to make the tournament? Same way with the football portal. Half of the players never find another team. How do they count against their previous school? Players in all sports are bouncing around so much it has to be nearly impossible to maintain the APR. I am just confused at how and when the NCAA will enforce it. Akron is an easy target but how about Duke in basketball or Bama in football?Comment

Below is a link to the NCAA APR. However, some of us on this forum complained over a decade ago that schools would be penalized if one of their players transferred and then did not graduate from their new school. The original school would be dinged because of that. That was back when a player had to sit out a season if they transferred, it was more difficult back then. Now that a player can compete for seven years with 5 different schools, how is this even tracked back to the first or even second college? I leave this to the all-knowing, great wizard known as Lobot. Huggins was always getting bashed because of his APR because so many of those players left the program and never graduated.
