Sorsby got greedy last night with that last pass. A full assortment of downs with 41 seconds (more than enough time) left in the game. Why not work down the field to get a little closer before going into the end-zone? At worse if UC does not get into the end zone, it is close enough to kick a sure field goal and tie the game. UC could have then taken the win in overtime. I thought that Sorsby played some hero-ball with that last pass.

Also, what was with the very odd time-out call by Satterfield with 8 seconds to go in the 4th quarter before the 2:00 time-out? I really did not understand why Satterfield decided not to keep the time-out until after the 2:00 break. Can anyone explain why Satterfield may have done that?

The loss last night extends the UC losing streak to 6 games. Remember UC lost 5 straight games to end last season.

Same old stinking pile of doo-doo. Secondary is not in position to defend. Our recievers can't get open or QB doesn't trust them.Coaches are befuddled. The game ball needs to go to Cunningham for allowing this game that was contractually to be played at Nippert to be moved to home field for Nebraska.Do we need $3 million badly enough to humiliate and alienate what loyal fans we have left? So now we are back to being Southeast Directional State where we get a payday to travel to Almighty U and get our heads clobbered? I thought we left that land 30 years ago. If we have truly sunk this low somebody with inside information please let us know so we can unload our season tickets and Bearcat gear. Hey but don't worry you'll have a great "fan experience" as we tangle with a MAC opponent.

I don’t like it at all. It was like the golfer who needs a birdie to win and a par to tie on the Par 5 18th hole. So he tries to reach the green in two with a 260 yard shot over the lake. The guy who does that loses 98 times out of 100, when two easy shots will do better than one very risky one. I thought it was a dumb call.

After a few seasons of such calls, we need to consider the source.

I agree with longtimefan's golf analogy - very appropriate.

Here are some ramblings...make of it what you will:

Urban Meyer would not have lost that game if he was coaching the 'Cats
The entire game it looked like they were playing conservatively/not to lose, then played reckless at the end.
If QB runs are basically the offense then we're doomed and he won't last...
Temp, tempo, tempo - we need to control the ball, keep possessions, give the defense a rest...
Look at what an offensive guru can do - Golesh at USF from the Heupel tree - he's resurrecting a program that was about as low as you can be a couple of years ago...
I've touted Chesney (Holy Cross now at JMU)...and recently Nixon (OC) at Syracuse has caught my eye
We need a creative offensive mind like the Kansas coach - different formations, motions...keeps the defense guessing and hesitant...
'Cats win that game at Nippert even with all the miscues...

Maybe it was "winners always do" "I want the ball". The Replacements "Movie Final Scene". Keanu Reeves: I want the ball. Gene hackman: Winners always do

Like all of you, I can’t believe our AD would agree to move this game to Arrowhead. Why did he not protect our interests and let us have a true home game. If I’m Satt, I’m in his face for this stupiid decision. We didn’t protect our interests when agreeing to sell out our team and coaches

You won't hear anything form Coach Sat because he is already on paper thin ice. Even though everybody questions it you won't hear anything from Cunningham. He never makes a statement or explains anything.
This whole game setup was a debacle. Even the announcers couldn't believe it. We should have taken the million dollar buyout( or whatever) when Nebraska wanted to walk away initially. The alternative scenario is that we really need this payday to stay afloat like Iowa State. Once again a little transparency from JC would be nice. I guess if imminent collapse becomes common knowledge then all your supporters jump ship and creditors start lining up. This boneheaded decision to give away this game followed by stonewalling may indicate deeper problems. There are a few individuals on this thread who seem to have an inside track.Anyone?

Somebody correct me if I get anything wrong here.

This was originally a game at Nippert, Indy threw about 2 to 3 Million at us to host it. Arrowhead came through and said we'll give you 8M and you get 75% of the gate receipts. We took the deal.

Financially it makes a ton of sense. We're not in a position and turn that down currently and simultaneously keep up with our legacy BIg XII neighbors spending habits in conference. This is because we are not receiving a full share of Big XII revenue yet. This is nice step to cover a. short coming financially So, all those Nebraska fans at the game, basically paid us indirectly.

I thought we get a full share with the new TV contract, which begins this season. Am I wrong?

Thursday night was unfortunately a continuation of the back half of 2024 from offensive play calling to Sorsby’s performance. Why the heck didn’t we run Walker & Pryor more as they were hot? Sorsby’s inconsistency in his decision making remains a problem as well. The soft approach with our DB’s was tough to watch. On the bright side, the energy on D and most of the tackling seemed good. A recipe for beating UC is taking Corleone and Royer off the stat line which occurred as well Thursday. Sorsby’s 13/25 69 yds and 1 INT is also vintage back half of 2024, too. A better coach gets the win + 3m for UC.

Helps when they call plays downfield. What even was that first half play calling on offense?

Also, the crowd caused at least 3 false starts in that half which killed us. Cunningham can take the blame for those since he basically gave Nebraska the game site.
