I’m not even angry about this game. Our JV team vs a fully loaded Navy team.

Portal and NIL have ruined college sports.

“That being said” (phrase used by every portal entrant), I still want a new coach.

      One more rant.

I no longer believe in “Once a Bearcat, always a Bearcat.”

I do believe in “Finish your college career a Bearcat, always a Bearcat.”

That is what can be said of Brady L.

18 key players missing against a team with 100% player participation??? Could have been worse, but next year, especially with CSS back, will be real ugly.

I gotcha Brother, but that can be said about the majority of Mid Major Teams. My problem is not with the players, it's with the Coach and his staff.

We need a new coach! Satterfield has proven he can't get the job done.

When you are missing over 20 players, it hurts your rotation and keeping players fresh. My hat is off to the players that showed up. Keep in mind that the top rushers were absent. They played well and just ran out of juice in the rain. They were over matched by a 100-percent Navy team. I agree that the coaching staff needs to be replaced but not because of this game but because of the entire season. The NIL and portal have killed college sports and the bowl season. I think that when a college signs a student-athlete, there should be a clause that they are required to play post season. I applaud Royer for participating and he even stated that he owed it to the City. However, he was never targeted and for that, I feel sorry for him.

Edit: I believe that those who have received NIL money should have to participate in post season or forfeit their entire NIL money.

Nobody said keep CSS. I was supporting the Bearcats who stayed and wore Cincinnati on their uniforms. They earned the right to be Bearcats. I am also for replacing CWM.

Clearly we do not have a Big 12 - capable QB on the roster for next season...for two years in the system I expected Jones to show a little more.

Yes, it's not so much this game, as the 4 before it, and the same way they ended last year. Neither program is competitive in the B12. I didn't see any potential for an accountable QB next season either, tonight.

The problem with this version of UC football was the defense. I read on Instagram that Veidt will not return next year. He will reunite with Campbell at PSU. I am happy about that because I was never a fan of the 3-3-5 defensive scheme.

Considering the fact we were outmanned on both
sides of the ball, in the rain, we showed up and played hard. For all you guys that want a new coach, do you want Fickell back??? He’s a hot mess in his current job. He left this program in a mess after he got out of what he wanted. It takes several years to build a program. Coach Satt is a steady hand and I’m confident he will make this program strong. Also, would we have performed better with our star players in the game today?
I think so! Ii hate every thing about college sports today. You would think we would learn something

The transfer portal and NIL has only made the rich richer, the blood blood elite schools even more lucrative. It's only made the mediocre teams assured of staying in their own lane. And it couldn't come at a most inopportune time for the Bearcats. For years we were able to be among the leaders of our conferences in bball and a few times in football and it being a stepping stone destination for coaches looking to move on. But just as we finally enter into a "power" conference the boys with all the money decide to change the rules. I don't like what this looks like going forward for UC other than being the perennial also rans of the B12. The only way for us to see any kind of success is to duplicate what Indiana has done in a way, we need to find coaches that can actually coach, who has ties to UC and not necessarily looking for a dream job and then be able to pay to procure and keep players that want to play for them. We don't have that now and not very confident that UC can find and keep these types of coaches. In this way we can occasionally see a conference championship run and occasional tourney run. I'm actually very curious to see just how long the football phoenix that is Indiana football this year can sustain this rise from the basement of the B10. It is unfortunate but we find ourselves like the Bengals and Reds, hoping to catch lightning in a bottle but always a few dollars short. At any rate fellas I hope all my BC forum friends have a happy and blessed upcoming new year.

Kudos to the players. They played hard in really bad circumstances against a loaded opponent. Pre-NIL there was a glimmer of hope in the play of Samaj Jones and Manny Covey in that they would be back next year and could develop. In the current situation, there is no development of your talented recruits. Just go out and buy the best players who may stay around for a year or two. This game was just a continuation of falling flat in the end of the season - but maybe for different reasons. Good coaching might have made a difference and perhaps avoided the blowout. If we expect to compete in FBS we need new leadership that can bring back the program to some kind of relevance. Otherwise, this season is just a preview of things to come. IMHO.
