What does everyone think would be a successful season after what Bearcat fans have suffered these past few years? If Satterfield wants to keep improving he needs at least eight season wins (8-4).. Would that make you happy?
I think at least that plus a post-season win in a bowl game.Last edited by London 'Cat; 07-18-2026, 04:01 AM.Comment

I am not satisfied with the losing in Oct and November, even with the team winning two more games each year as progress. I'd say that 8-4 would be acceptable to not even discuss firing Satterfield. A 7-5 record with Bowl game might be a point where I'd understand the conversation, but I'd have to see how the team looked to engage in that conversation. What does everyone think would be a successful season after what Bearcat fans have suffered these past few years? UC has one of the top 15 preseason O-Lines. Now if the defense can limit scoring.

I would be happy with 8-4 and a victory in a halfway decent bowl. Along with that I would expect most of the starters to play in the bowl game.Comment

Eight wins will be a tall order. I won't say they can't do it. However, in order to have a shot at it, the Bearcats must start 4-0, which includes beating K-State here in Week 4. Of the remaining eight games, five will be on the road, three of which will be extremely difficult: AZ, UH, and BYU. Throw in Homecoming with the Red Raiders. UC will be underdogs in all four, meaning they must sweep the other four: @ WV, @ ISU, CO, UT.Comment

Nationally, there is not a whole lot of love for French.

With our skill players and a top 15 O-line, I wonder if we have a QB who will not miss so many wide open receivers? Sorsby as the best QB in the portal last year didn't make sense, though I still wanted him back. While he had few interceptions to TDs, he likely could've had 6-9 more TDs if the ball was 3-4 yards lower. I will hold judgement if French or Brendan are the QB that ends Satterfield's UC era. If French is a little more accurate on the wide open targets, I'll forgive a few more INTs trying to thread the needle.Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

I hear what you’re saying and the o-line strength would be a reason to be hopeful but the o-line at Georgia Southern performed well and was rated well, too. The deficiencies that were in French’s performance in a much less competitive league along with a completely new WR room here makes me doubtful this will work out. The word is the French is slow to release, doesn’t work through his reads quick enough and the pace of the B12 won’t help that cause. There have been 2, maybe 3, 4* QB’s during Satterville’s reign here that couldn’t find the field along with Sorsby’s inconsistent play in B12 play. Let’s hope Zion rushes for 1500 yards and 15 TD’s.

I have also been amazed at all the attention paid to Sorsby. I would say he was better than average but not great. Desmond Ritter was better in my opinion but even he was not stellar.Comment

Ridder was a better leader I think and a better overall player. . Sorsby was probably the better passing talent of the two.
The thing with Sorsby is we'll never really know how good he was because his decisions on the field were possibly compromised the entire time he was with us. Does he throw the pick at Nebraska? Does he throw an INT on the first play from scrimmage? Does he fumble just because or because a proxy had money on him to fumble during that particular series? Did he throw games? Did he throw the final season at the end after contact from others?
Some of this stuff may come out in court because he stands has federal wire fraud charges pending in addition to gambling violations in multiple states.
Anyway, back to current team news..Brent Wyrick
