I dont see UC stepping forward to make him the highest paid in the Beast. Also, with a small stadium and weak season ticket base ($20 social promotion tickets). Can UC really afford to raise ticket prices? We will have Bengal prices soon if a BK raise was to happen. I am willing to pay for winning football in Cincinnati but I dont think there is enough of us. Also, the upgrades should have been started months ago, that was put off and putt off. No way in **** he turns down the job, there is just no way. We have to hope he never gets offered the job. It sucks that every year we win we will have to face this problem. We as a fanbase are really going to have to step up next year and the year after so that we can secure Brian Kelly or the future coach. This situation sucks, its drawn more of my attention than the Pitt game, Only thing Ive really checked out about the Bengals this week was that they signed Mike Mickens, and the B Ball #22 ranking is really getting overlooked. This is all the City is talking about this week.

I still predict if/when BK leaves, BT will have the courage to put KC in there. Mark my words. In fact gents, if BK does leave, and KC is not picked, I hereby pledge to not mention KC or Colerain until Jan.1, 2011!!!

Is Colerain sending any players to college from this season?

To me that's a huge indicator that he's very much interested.
Wouldn't it be funny if BK already knew that he was about 98% sure of being the next coach at ND?

the number of players ND loses this year is really tremendous, with the two juniors probably leaving too... if a coach only gets 3 years to make a perception... maybe this isn't the year.

I've been trying to ignore the situation as much as possible, but it's been impossible. I'm by far the biggest UC fan where I work, so people are always asking me if I think he's going to stay. I'm just tired of it. If he's going to leave, he'll leave. It won't be before the Pitt game. I just don't really want to devote much thought to it. We have a lot of stuff going for us as a program, and we have a lot of shortcomings. It's up to BK to decide which aspects of coaching are the most important to him.

I'm with you. If he wants to go he will go. He has been very good at getting his way and to his credit he has been very visionary and has laid out an outstanding vision and plan for UC including the Jefferson practice facility and other upgrades like paying assistant coaches better so they stay. Then he has put his money where his mouth is. Great coach, great vision for the program. He took it to a level I never thought it would go. I used to be so happy to be in the Motor City Bowl. I was so upset when we lost to North Texas in the whatever bowl it ruined my week. #5 playing for a shot to go the the NC game. But...if he wants to leave, he will leave. I'm not going to sweat it. Maybe the next guy will be better if he does go...remember all the people who fretted when Dantonio left.

Gary Patterson is out of the ND picture. Contract extension.

I was thinking the same thing about Dantonio. Three years ago I was hoping the University would do whatever it could to keep Dantonio. You certainly don't hear any UC fans now wishing he were still here. I'm not comparing Kelly to Dantonio. Kelly really is special and nationally recognized as such.

If BK does leave, he will be leaving this program a whole lot better than when he found it. The same could be said of Mark D. and even Minter, but BK was planning for the future, improving the infrastructure, setting the groundwork to maintain successs. And in the process giving Bearcat football fans the most exciting, rewarding season in our history. For that, I will be forever grateful.

One way to solve the speculation: beat Pitt this weekend, and have Texas lose to Nebraska, putting us in the NC game. No one in their right mind would leave a program that is going into the National Championship game.

Can somebody please tell BK that all this is a huge distraction to the players and recruits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does he actually think they aren't on the internert or having family members ask them about the situation or getting messages from friends about it! or watching ESPN etc. etc. etc.

The issue needs to be addressed at least to the frikin players I mean come on. Does this not bug anybody else??? Not addressing it at all??? Every meeting or practice this is the big elephant in the room.

Can we get some sanity back to this conversation.

Ok. Does it bother anyone else to hear national sports guys talk about how Kelly has built this program from nothing?

Minter gets little credit for the long haul building of this program. He kept the trajectory pointing up when the facilities and conference were terrible, and the assistant coaching situation was a nightmare. Without his work, UC does not get into the BIG East. Having said that, He did have some deficiencies in my mind and I did agree that it was time for a change for both Minter and UC.

Dontonio also upgraded the program. He gave the team a toughness that they needed to play in the BIG East.

Kelly, obviously has taken the program to a new level.

I currently feel that Kelly will stay. One point I rarely if ever hear is that he has 2 daughters. When he came to Cincinnati, he spoke often that he wanted to be in a City that afforded his daughters many educational and cultural experiences. I don't think South Bend has the same opportunites for his daughters as Cincinnati. I believe Minter was committed to Cincinnati for similar family reasons and even hung around the area after he lost the job.

How do you know that he hasn't addressed the team and they just are not talking to the press?

How much recruiting do you think he would be doing this week? Personally, I would hope that he is too busy coming up with a gameplan to beat the Panthers then scouting the next recruit this week.
