FWIW, FootballCoachScoop.com is reporting the Brian Billick rumr is bunk, and that chatter out of ND is that Stoops remains the #1 target.

And, I wouldn't read too much into the house thing -- Stoops may have had every intention of staying @ Oklahoma two months ago.

Ego

For weeks I thought Coach K would stay. I have changed my mind. I think his ego will force him to go if given the opportunity. He has a rather large one that controls him!! I truly hope he can overcome the pressure to go.

Watching Auburn/Bama:

Is it just me or are these bands a hundred - no wait - thousand times better than ours is? Defense is about to make a stand and they cue up the Darth Vader theme. It seems like ours only plays during time outs, and then, its a merry little ditty that no one has ever heard...

Thank you!! I have said for years that we have nothing but a glorified high school band. When we played Ohio State a few years ago and their band was out there before ours, we looked like a complete joke! We need to do something to make them better. No disrespect to anyone in the band, they just need to step it up a few notches. I had a friend in high school who played in OSU's band and he had to try out to get in. We ran an ad during the game today looking for people to be in the band.

When we played Ohio State a few years ago and their band was out there before ours, we looked like a complete joke! We need to do something to make them better. I dont know if its where I was sitting for the WVU game but their band was loud and I heard them clear everytime they played, couldnt even hear our band. Our band is too small. I love the band I just wish they could get a little larger and louder, dont care to much for halftime shows.

Somebody knows whats going on, I would like to see whats going on with financial pledges from our large donors, that would show us exactly what the situation is. Also I think another would be if Notre Dame fires Weis on sunday but holds off on announcing another coach. If there is no announcment from Notre Dame this week, thats when its time to worry. (Im already worried)

I think you're confused. Someone with a huge ego (which I love and its what a college team needs) would want to stay here and become a god in our city. If he goes to ND, someone else will be telling him what to do. Here, he calls the shots. How would that not boost his ego? He'll have the chance to become a legend here!

Amen lucy4242! I have said it before with the ND schedule chances of any coach getting them to go undefeated or even only 1 loss is huge. And a two loss ND team will never be in the national championship game. Besides even if he can go to ND and turn things around and win a championship or two (not likely) what are they going to do name a street 3 blocks away from the stadium after him? Here he can continue to build this program into a Big East champion year in and year out and yearly BCS team with a shot or two maybe at a national title game. He does that and they will name the whole field and or stadium after him.

Unless you reside in the SEC a two loss team from any conference isn't sniffing the NC game.

Secondly, the countervailing argument to everything you stated is that Kelly may very well have a perfect record this year at UC and have no shot at a national championship.

That more than anything is what may force Kelly out the door. He did everything humanly possible to win a NC at UC and he barely got considered for the NC game.

Say what you will about ND if Kelly went undefeated there, or suffered a loss, he would be in the NC game.

The band has actually improved and got larger. It still needs work. I also get tried of the old fart director having his name announced 4 times at every game "Dr. Terrene L. Frense" or what ever it is. Also we need to put some of the flag girls and one twirler on a serious diet.

ND started the season ranked #23 versus #33 for us. Of the top ten in the latest BCS poll only UC and Pitt were not ranked to start the season and we were the lowest ranked. We were in the talk for the NC title for the first time ever! Also not very often are there this many undefeated teams this deep into the season. Usually there are only 1 maybe 2, not 6. He can win a National Championship here at UC!

To say he has done everything for this year for a NC I would argue is false. For many people you need some history/tradition because you are even considered. With that comes preseason rankings in the top 25, which we did not have yet. He has done an awesome job and if he stays past this year none of his teams will again be underrated such as this one has been.

Heck you can point toward SEC country and Auburn years back that went unbeaten and didnt get a shot at a NC game. So it is not "lowly" ole Cinci.
