But their recent post does make me feel better, even if it's a flat lie.
Yeah, continually repeating that BK will NOT be the next coach at ND is crazy. They must love their source or hate their credibility. Always the chance ND is using BK for leverage on Harbaugh I guess, or interviewing him to placate the portion of the fan base that wants him. I agree with everyone above, it will just be nice to have this all be over.

And here's a totally embarrassing admission, I had a dream last night in which BK ate dinner with my family and revealed to us, via an XMas card, that he was leaving. It will be nice when I'm not so wrapped up in this that my subconscious decides to weigh in.

Antonio, I like your posts, and I'm just as guilty as anyone of constantly hitting 'refresh' on my browser to check up-to-the-minute news, but that's a little messed up. I hope for your sake that this ends soon .

(Mike London signed today with VA)

I hope UC, after all is said and done rewards MT with a huge contract extension and gives him a big bonus! I believe in MT and our Bearcats.

Go Cats...no matter what they are our Bearcats, BK or not!
        See everyone in NO.
Peterson looks to be entrenched at Boise, Quinn is a possibility, but what about the D coach at Texas (can't remember his name) would be a great hire.

It's a smart move on their part. Either they're right and they are the only place to report this, or they're wrong and their credibility is still very low.

            In Mike Thomas We Trust

Ok....we now know for sure BK is "listening". So...who is Mike Thomas talking to in NY? He has made excellent choices since coming to UC. I think I'm more afraid that he'll leave than any one particular coach.

Skip Holtz comes to mind. Any others?

His name is Will Muschamp...looks to be whiny Mack Browns heir apparent?

I really hope that MT has his contingency short list and that one of the afforementioned names will be our next HC...IF BK decides to leave (still praying he stays). I do really like Butch Jones and Bobby Hauck, but would jump at the opportunity to have Kevin Sumlin as well. If Jerry Moore weren't like 70+ I would say go get him...not sure he would even want to come here as I am sure he has had many opportunities?!?

              Oh well...Go Cats!

I do agree...MT is our AD and I believe that he will do what is best! He should give himself a huge raise and contract extension when all is said and done. Let's hope that BK stays and we can kick some Gator tail in NO!!!

Jones would be the logical choice, given the fact that he runs essentially (from what I've read) the same style of offense as Brian Kelly. He doesn't have Kelly's pedigree (long history of success in the D-1AA level as a head coach), and only has 3 years of head coaching under his belt. That worries me a bit. He's a midwest guy, though. I think that's important for recruiting this area of the country and something that shouldn't be overlooked.

Sumlin is also green w/ regards head coaching experience -- he has only 2 years as a head coach under his belt. With so little time in, it's hard to know what he's like as a recruiter. He's from the midwest as well (Indy area), but he's been down south forever -- so not sure what kind of recruiter he'd be in this area of the country.

Peterson isn't leaving Boise -- and if he does leave Boise, it'll be for a better job than this one (sorry to say).

Hauck is someone I want no part of. The story about him trying to bully the student rag in Montana is pure bush league, and speaks volumes.

I don't think Mullen is going to leave a gig in the SEC after 1 year, so I don't think he'd be a candidate either.

Jerry Moore has to be close to 100 by now (looked it up, he turned 70 this past summer) -- pass.

Al Golden doesn't really excite me all that much. His Temple teams have gotten better every year, but that's not tough to do in the MAC (where the teams are up and down all over the map each year). He's a defensive guy, and I don't know that he'd be a good fit on the team that has built and recruited so much identity on offense.

Jeff Quinn is going to go with Brian Kelly to Notre Dame. I don't see him as head coaching material, but that's just me.

Just my thoughts, for whatever doom and gloom they're worth.

I'd love to give Tommy Tuberville a long term contract. And he's already won a sugar bowl. His wife is from Guilford Indiana. Which is right over the border.

The real question is when do the Urban Meyer to UC rumors start? :-)

I posted this in the other thread, but I'll re-post here since this seems to be the more appropriate thread:

Ken Broo talked about it a few weeks ago on Sunday Morning Sportstalk, and did a blog entry about it:

Ridiculous, IMO -- but hey, stranger things have happened.

I haven't really paid any attention to Stanford, other than their prime time game last week. Has Harbaugh worked enough magic to outsparkle Kelly? I do hope that UC at least offers to make Kelly the highest paid coach in the Big East. If he walks away from that then I'll feel like everything possible was done to keep him here.

Mike Thomas is one of the few positive things to come from the Zimpher reign. I have all the faith in the world that he'll do everything he can to keep this ball rolling.
