One other thing to consider is that I feel ND has to interview BK just because of how many alums, fans, sports media outlets have been pushing for him. Even if he isn't ND's #1 choice they would be looked at as foolish for not interviewing him and considering him. In the end I think he may NOT be their #1 choice but they know that he is the #1 choice among the mainstream therefore they are interviewing him. ND officials/AD would be chastised for not interviewing him. I've been reading Notre Dame message boards and its CLEAR they all want BK for the most part

I think there might be something to this. Not saying it is likely, but the theory holds water. If he's not offered the job, might just be true.

Ok, guys, Harbaugh, Swarbrick and Stanford's AD are all saying that Harbaugh is not interviewing with ND. Kelly is literally the only confirmed candidate.

As well as a rapidly growing endowment, higher admission standards, more research money, but I digress.....

I agree as well. I think we need to at least place a call to Urban Meyer. I would expect him to politely say no thanks but he is from the area and went to UC. It won't hurt to just test his interest.

source? the new york times reported he did (or would be) and reported that neither he nor Jim Young, Stanford’s assistant athletic director/media relations, denied the report. bobestes vs. the old gray lady...hmmmmmm

Would've made more sense before Flordia was slated to play UC in the Sugar. No way he leaves Florida for their opponent in the Sugar Bowl. Those are all his guys on that team. I wouldn't want a coach, even a NT coach, that would be that much of a snake.

interesting that Stanford's AD is so cocksure about Harbaugh not interviewing because he knows the situation from "both sides" and yet had to call Harbaugh's agent today to make sure it didn't happen. I feel lucky to have a class act like Mike Thomas at the helm.

Screw Kelly! I am sick and tired of his little games. Bending every over backwards for his little games. Why would anyone want to play for a guy who is willing to consider turning his back on you after you have worked your tail off to get him to back to back BCS bowls? I hope when he takes his dream job everyone reminds every player he talks to that he'll drop them in a minute.

Not a single moment to consider how UC gave a guy with 3 years FBS coaching experience a chance at a BCS school. Or the fact that these kids have labored for 3 years for him.

Almost all coaches do it. Kelly is not anything out of the ordinary in this respect.

BTW, these football players did get a great FREE education from a great academic institution, which is the main reason they are there, correct?

I am so sick and tired of the BK stuff, that I will not read anything more, or post anything else (about him) until it is settled. BK is a football coach. He is a great coach, but for him to distract and possibly desert a 12-0 that played their hearts and souls out for him is not something that I can not excuse, even with the thought "because it is ND".

Gentleman, let us hire the right coach with local ties, or we will again be having this same discussion in 2-3 years. I know KC better than you do. I signed his paycheck while he was at Colerain. If you guys want an up and coming coach who has been an coordinator or HC, then let it be. But like Gottfried, Watson Brown, Murphy, Dantonion, and now probably BK, they never, ever stay. If BK is hired by ND, then let him pack his bags, and be gone. MT, let KC be the interim coach. He will get the team motivated.

Wake me up when this is settled. Enough on BK. 53K hits on this thread is about 20 times more than any other thread we have ever had. What more can be said or added?

How many of those kids are spending their time trying to find new colleges to play at? I don't know any of them that are.

Out of those on the list I would say Jones is the best choice. I have thought about him since these rumors started... he studied under Rich Rod as well so he has great knowledge of the spread. The only thing that worries me is he has had one **** of a QB these past few years. I wonder how good he would have been without Dan the Man
