Happ Emerging As Top Baseball Prospect

        Koch:
(Ian) Happ, a junior outfielder for UC, was a pre-season All-American who has been ranked by MLB.com as the 16th best prospect in June's First-Year Player Draft, so it's likely that he'll have the chance to turn pro after this season. But he's not thinking about the draft or about where he'll be this summer.

Could this be a good sign for the future? Only 9 wins on the season, so this year is still shot, but it seems like a lot of freshman pitchers are getting involved. 3 wins over extremely solid competition in last 4 games. I haven't really followed UC baseball before, but hope this is a good sign for the future!

                    Geiser - downthedrive:
If you didn't know that they had 22 freshmen, I think you would've assumed that the team is a joke but they are far from it. As of late, they are one of the hottest teams in the conference. They have won their last 3 series'. Against #6 UCF, Indiana, and Memphis to the list. Note: After the 2 losses to UC, UCF fell to #10 in the nation, and then fell again to #17. UC who are winners of 5 of their last 7, are a team that is starting to get in a rhythm.

Newsrecord: Cincinnati local warms up for Bearcats' final stretch
Bearcat pitcher and Colerain High School graduate Ryan Atkinson is a local through and through, which could be seen as he walked through the Richard E. Lindner Center wearing his Cincinnati Reds hat.

The News Record interviewed Atkinson, a fourth-year dietetics student, Thursday as he is about to embark on the final stretch of his pitching career for the University of Cincinnati.

“I thought it would be pretty awesome to play in my hometown and for my family and friends to come see me play,” said Atkinson.
