It's getting down to the whether the House settlement is going to hold up.

If it does, there will be spending caps for NIL and player pay.

If it doesn't we get pay for play free for all.

A new committee/entity made up of power conference ADs and appointees will police direct school payouts, including a salary cap, and also police fair market value of outside NIL deals.

My two cents, this gelps the rich get richer. Big tv revenue schools get to keep a larger portion of that revenue, and still be able to utilize alumni to payout those top NIL value deals.

A committee of power conference administrators took significant steps this week toward the creation of a new entity that will govern the evolving professionalized aspects of college sports.

Here's an interesting piece on how some of the Chicago-area universities are handling the new world of revenue sharing. It was written for the Chicago Tribune, with the Greensboro paper picking it up:

Considering the current athletics (coaches, AD department, strength department and Administration) it is like putting money into a bag with a hole in it. I wish to compete and win in today's environment, but the programs are not quality right now.

Two key components: 1) schools without football may be able to build better basketball teams, 2) revenue sharing when there is no revenue within certain sports?

Cincinnati Bengals star QB Joe Burrow hasn’t spent any of his NFL paychecks.
At last count, his career earnings stand at roughly $142 million. Burrow lives off endorsements from brands like Nike, BodyArmor, Guinness, and Kroger Health, which amounts to ~$4M annually, while his playing salary accumulates untouched.

This is the problem with NCAA NIL. If Joe only gets 4 milliin in endorsemenrs, are any college kids truely worth half that?

Value, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder LOL However, that is different than an endorsement. There aren't easy answers, and I do not want to go back to the time where these payments were being made under the table. I like the current above board system, but disagree with the approach of pay-4-play at these rates.

I understand what you are saying -- but there is even more under the table in some places. Until there is clarity and tOSU, Alabamas, Georgia, Clemson, Texas etc. take control, there won't be much change. I see the AD at tOSU wants clarity, but perhaps so he can monopolize it to their advantage.

Mason Madsen has been taking on Youtube as a side project while he awaits future professional opportunities.

He recently posted a short video breaking down how much money he made each year during his 5-year career. The total compensation for his final year at Utah might surprise some people.
