  • This is already being discussed in the NCAA Legal Thread. It is really big news but so far it has involved smaller colleges where there is no NIL money. It appears that the gamblers have left the big schools alone since those players are getting paid more than what the bribes are.

    • This is only one scheme that has come to light. There may be much more below the surface.Amazing how somebody somehow buried the story involving the NBA. What did they think was going to happen!?

That might be part of the school selection process, but the miscreants might have targeted smaller schools that virtually no one pays attention to. No big TV games; no national attention. Just hoping to commit crimes with no one noticing (they thought). They didn't take into account that the sports books have access to mountains of data analysis that can pick up on out-of-the-ordinary betting patterns.

        • NCAA proposing major changes to eligibility rules, including age limits

          https://sports.yahoo.com/college-foo...121509806.html

"According to the concept, NCAA athletes would have five full years of eligibility from the time of their 19th birthday or their high school graduation, whichever is earliest. No waiver requests, redshirts or exceptions will be permitted, except for a small group of outliers (those on maternity leave, military service or religious missions)."

It doesn’t say 5 years for 4 seasons, so will guys get 5 seasons now? Baba Miller is 22.
